HBO Max has shared a second teaser for the Lily-Rose Depp and The Weeknd-starring series, The Idol. The one-and-a-half-minute visual mostly follows the journey of Depp’s character as she works towards her career goals in the music industry and her meeting of The Weeknd’s character. The synopsis describes the story as one that is “set against the backdrop of the music industry and centers on a self-help guru and leader of a modern-day cult who develops a complicated relationship with an up-and-coming pop idol,” and sees the likes of Jennie Kim, Moses Sumney, Suzanna Son, Troye Sivan, Jane Adams, Dan Levy, Hari Nef, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Mike Dean, Ramsey and Hank Azaria as supporting characters. It appears that Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling may just be working together on another project, this time in a more action-focused film. Earlier this year, Robbie was confirmed to be starring in and producing the new Ocean’s Eleven prequel. Now, new details have surfaced surrounding the cast which have reported Gosling currently in conversation to star in the film alongside Robbie. While there is still minimal detail about the script, the film is expected to be set in Europe in the 1960s. With the introduction of Black Adam to the big screen scheduled for October, lead actor Dwayne Johnson is keen on expanding the DC universe in the coming years.
