The 27-year-old rap superstar joyously took the stage at Summer Sonic 2022 in Osaka on Saturday (Aug. 20) wearing a Sailor Moon-inspired outfit. The Weeknd has shared a new teaser for his upcoming HBO Max series The Idol. The show—set in “the gutters of Hollywood,” as the new clip points out—centers on a female pop singer (Lily-Rose Depp) as she becomes romantically involved with a Los Angeles club owner and cult leader. Abel Tesfaye stars in the series, which he produced and co-wrote. The new trailer does not list a release date, but it does reveal a whole new slate of cast members, including Moses Sumney, Blackpink’s Jennie, Mike Dean, Dan Levy, Rachel Sennott, Hank Azaria, Hari Nef, and more. Man Arrested at Washington Festival, Police Believe Arrest Prevented a Potential Mass Shooting

Police officers in Grant County, Washington believe they prevented a potential mass shooting a the Bass Canyon EDM festival at the Gorge Amphitheatre on Friday night (August 19), as Consequence of Sound points out. According to a Facebook post from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office (below), security and witnesses notified police at around 9 p.m. after watching a man in the parking lot “inhale an unknown substance” from a balloon, produce two 9mm pistols from the trunk of his car, and load them with ammunition. He then placed one pistol in his waistband and the other in a holster, before approaching concertgoers, asking what time the event ended and where people would be exiting the venue. Police Believe They Stopped Potential Mass Shooting at Bass Canyon EDM Festival

Police in Grant County, Washington believe they may have stopped a mass shooting Friday night (August 19th) during the Bass Canyon Music Festival at the Gorge Amphitheatre. The county sheriff’s department later identified the suspect as 31-year-old Jonathan R. Moody of Ephrata, a town about 100 miles east of Spokane. Witnesses said they saw Moody inhale an unknown substance or gas from a balloon inside his car before loading two 9mm pistols. With one pistol concealed in the rear of his waistband and the other in an outside-the-waistband holster, Moody then began approaching concertgoers, asking what time the concert ended and where people would be exiting the venue.
