When Jim Carrey was first heard on The Weeknd‘s most recent album Dawn FM, fans were pleasantly surprised at the two Canadians joining forces. Carrey’s voice can be heard in the intro “Dawn FM” as he delivers a radio host-like style narration, as well as on “Out of Time” and the outro “Phantom Regret by Jim.” The Canadian comedian recently told Entertainment Tonight that he was not completely sold on collaborating with The Weeknd for his latest album. The actor explained that he initially did not want to be involved, “The Mask was the very first movie he ever saw and kind of inspired him to want to be in this thing. And boy, did he ever get in this thing in a big way… He put it to me that he was doing this thing that was the radio station in purgatory, and I didn’t want to work and I was l...

Santigold is closing in on the release of her comeback album Spirituals. Ahead of its September 9th release, the indie veteran has shared another preview of what’s to come today with the single “Shake,” produced by SBTRKT. At just under two minutes, “Shake” doesn’t let its brevity prevent it from packing a punch. SBTRKT bolsters the song with a puttering, slightly off-kilter beat that feels a little reminiscent of Radiohead’s “Kid A,” as Santigold sings a message of perseverence over an ascending synth loop: “I won’t buckle under pressure/ Imma be alright/ I will never follow/ If I know the way/ But if you got my back/ I got you, set your worry free.” “‘Shake’ is one of those songs…that basically write themselves, and all you have to do as the artist is be open enough to reach out and...
Steve Martin is experiencing an unexpected career resurgence thanks to his endearing, Emmy-nominated performance in Only Murders in the Building, but that doesn’t mean the actor hasn’t considered the possibility of retirement. In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Martin said he doesn’t plan on looking for other work after the Hulu series is over. Prior to Only Murders, Martin made a comeback to standup comedy with his future co-star on the show, Martin Short, but had otherwise largely stepped away from his acting career. “We were very happy just doing the live show,” Martin told THR. “There may be a natural end to that — somebody gets sick, somebody just wears out — but I wouldn’t do it without Marty. When this television show is done, I’m not going to seek others. I’m...

Now, Terell Ephron, aka A$AP Relli, a former member of the A$AP Mob, has come forward as the alleged victim. Rocky, born Rakim Mayers, was coming back from a vacation with his then-pregnant girlfriend, Rihanna, when police detained him at LAX. He has yet to be formally charged with a crime, but has been listed as a person of interest and is due in court on August 17th. Additionally, Ephron has filed a civil lawsuit against Rocky. In statement provided to Rolling Stone, Ephron said Rocky asked him to meet that November night “to discuss a disagreement between the two of them.” Yet, “unbeknownst to Mr. Ephron, A$AP Rocky was not just planning for a conversat...
