What would you do if you were dancing in a club and—all of a sudden—you heard your own voice? This could actually happen thanks to Dutch-Latvian electronic music artist ANNNA and her new solo project, Might Delete Later. In May, the singer-songwriter and DJ posted her phone number on socials, allowing anyone to record a message which could then be used in one of her upcoming tracks. In just three hours, the inbox was full of messages that ranged from intimate to fun to not-so-appropriate. Whether it was someone struggling to say the words “I love you” to their other half or someone who has had a hearing aid singe the age of 22, these voicemails and personal stories from random people demonstrated how our dreams, worries and experiences connect us all as humans, ANNNA said. Rap Song of the Week breaks down your must-hear hip-hop tracks every Friday. Check out the full playlist here. This week, Doechii taps Rico Nasty for her new track “Swamp Bitches.” Doechii has been positioned to be the next one up from Top Dawg Entertainment after being chosen for the 2022 XXL Freshman Class. No more appropriation Hollywood and streamers! Boycott! This F’d up! Plus seriously difficult story to tell without aggrandizement, which would be wrong! I don’t got a [problem] with Franco but he ain’t Latino!” The Encanto star shared his unfiltered thoughts alongside a screenshot of a Deadline story confirming Franco’s role in the upcoming film Alina of Cuba opposite Mía Maestro and Ana Villafañe. The movie will be the former Oscar host’s second project after taking an extended break from acting in the wake of being sued by two of...

With a handful of music companies’ quarterly earnings releases now in the books, the outlook for the second half of the year appears strong almost across the board.
