Lollapalooza Staffer Arrested After Fabricating Mass Shooting Threat to Get Out of Work Early: Report
A Lollapalooza security staffer is currently in jail after allegedly fabricating a mass shooting threat. The Chicago Tribune reports the staffer sought to get out of work early and intended to use the threat as cover. On the second day of the long-running Chicago music festival, 18-year-old Janya B. Williams reportedly sent a message to a colleague from a phone number which read, “Mass shooting at 4pm location Lollapalooza. We have150 targets.” The number was allegedly created via TextNow, a free, internet-based phone service platform which allows users to register real phone numbers. Janya B. Drowning Pool Announce New Album, Honor Pantera’s Dimebag and Vinnie Paul with Single “Mind Right” Stream
Drowning Pool are returning with the new album, Strike a Nerve, on September 30th. The band has also paid tribute to the late Pantera members Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul with the lead single “Mind Right.” Honoring their fellow Texans, the Dallas-based Drowning Pool wrote the song shortly after Vinnie Paul died in 2018. It’s official: The Mars Volta have announced their first new album in a decade. The self-titled LP is due September 16. The Mars Volta are also releasing a new song called “Vigil” today to celebrate the news. Check it out below.
