The Walkmen Release You & Me Deluxe Reissue: Listen
The Walkmen have released a deluxe reissue of their beloved fourth album You & Me. The Sun Studio Edition of the record was fully remastered by Chris Colbert at National Freedom, and includes an entire side of unreleased tracks as well as newly released live studio takes. The reissue is available in digital and 2xLP formats. The band has also released videos of the sessions for “Canadian Girl (Sun Studio Version)” and “Louisiana (Sun Studio Version).” Check those out, and listen to the deluxe edition of You & Me, below. FKA twigs has shared a performance for NPR’s “Tiny Desk (Home) Concert” series. She sang Magdalene’s “Home With You,” followed by the new song “Killer” and, finally, “Cellophane.” She was joined by pianist Kelly Moran, cellist Lucinda Chua, and violinist and double bassist Damsel Elysium. Julee Cruise, Blue Velvet and Twin Peaks Singer, Dies at 65
Julee Cruise, the singer, multi-instrumentalist, actor, and longtime collaborator of David Lynch and Angelo Badalamenti, died yesterday by suicide, Cruise’s husband Edward Grinnan tells Pitchfork. Grinnan also wrote a commemorative post for Cruise on Facebook. “She left this realm on her own terms,” he wrote. “No regrets. She is at peace.… I played her [the B-52’s song] ‘Roam’ during her transition. Now she will roam forever.” Speaking on the phone with Pitchfork, Grinnan remarked, “She was the most creative person I ever met, and I think I married her for that creativity.” Julee Cruise was 65 years old. Justin Bieber Explains Concert Cancellations, Says He Has Facial Paralysis
Justin Bieber has recently postponed a number of concerts due to what he described as a “sickness.” In an Instagram video posted today (June 10), the singer indicated he’ll be delaying more concerts due to facial paralysis. “I have this syndrome called Ramsay Hunt syndrome, and it is from this virus that attacks the nerve in my ear and my facial nerves and has caused my face to have paralysis,” he explained. “So, for those who are frustrated by my cancellations of the next shows, I’m just physically, obviously, not capable of doing them.” Bieber began his Justice World Tour in February, and he was set to wrap up the first North American leg in July. The trek is scheduled to extend through March 2023.
