Sneak Peek: Victoria’s ‘Fine As Hell’ Boyfriend Might Be A Catfish

Anthony is everything Victoria could “ever want in a guy.” But there’s one possible issue standing in this love hopeful’s way: Anthony might be a catfish. Nev and Kamie, who will return with brand-new Catfish episodes beginning May 31, learn more about the couple’s history in the sneak peek clip below. “He was my first online friend and boyfriend — he’s seen me grow up and has helped me through all of my firsts,” Nev reads from an email from Victoria. Even though the two have known each other for eight years — they met when she was 16 and he was 21 — and she describes him as “fine as hell,” they have never had a phone conversation. Or FaceTimed. Even more worrisome: how Anthony reacted when Victoria broached this...

The Best, The Mess & The Rest: Solid Sound Festival

Solid Sound Festival returned to the Berkshires for the biennial festival which saw fans literally of all ages making a trek to MASS MoCA to see Jeff Tweedy and company celebrate the release of their latest release, Cruel Country. We enlisted a Berkshires resident to document the show and his back still hurts from standing for seven hours straight each day and he now understands why so many people brought camping chairs to the main stage. Live and learn. The Best Wilco – Wilco kicked of their Friday night set with Jeff Tweedy warning, “We aren’t going to talk a lot tonight” and added that this would probably be the only time they would be playing these songs together in reference to the band’s nearly flawless rendition of their brand new 21-track double album, Cruel Country. While the...

‘Her Country’ Author Marissa Moss on the Inequalities Women Artists Face in Country Music

In new book, Her Country: How the Women of Country Music Became the Success They Were Never Supposed to Be, journalist Marissa Moss chronicles the way that the country music industry has proved inequitable for women artists, and especially women of color. Though she provides a broad history of women in country music — including the ongoing influence of pioneers like Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton, and a fond look at the early-’90s heyday when women artists achieved near parity with their male counterparts on radio — she primarily looks at the contemporary scene, through the careers of Maren Morris,  Kacey Musgraves and Mickey Guyton. Bradley Cooper Is Unrecognizable as Leonard Bernstein in ‘Maestro’ First Look Photos

Netflix unveiled a glimpse at their new film Maestro on Monday (May 30), including Bradley Cooper‘s jaw-dropping transformation as West Side Story composer Leonard Bernstein. In the photos released from set, a ’50s-era Cooper is rendered in black and white alongside Carey Mulligan as Bernstein’s wife, actress Felicia Montealegre. He’s also miraculously aged up to portray the conductor in the 1980s, when he was in his 60s, using makeup and a wig. In one snap, he sits behind a desk, virtually unrecognizable as a cigarette burns between his fingers; in another, he paces in an auditorium as he waves his finger, either conducting the action on stage or giving a note. See the Prosthetics That Might Win Bradley Cooper an Oscar in Leonard Bernstein Biopic Maestro

Academy Award voters love a good prosthetic, and plastic-aided transformations have garnered Oscars for Robert De Niro, Nicole Kidman, Charlize Theron, and more. Perhaps we’ll soon be adding Bradley Cooper’s name to that list; the many times-nominated superstar is directing himself in the Leonard Bernstein biopic Maestro, and first look photos show him wearing a double-sized nose, jowls that hang down over his chest like a bronze chain, and eyebrows so bushy they tried to invade Iraq. Maestro is produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment and Martin Scorsese’s Sikelia Productions. Cooper himself co-wrote the script with Josh Singer, and he’ll be starring opposite Carey Mulligan as Felicia Montealegre, Chilean actress and Bernstein’s wife. Although Bernstein is best rememb...
