Apple is developing a live-action scripted series based on the popular manga Speed Racer, with J.J. Abrams‘ Bad Robot on board to executive produce, according to Variety. Ron Fitzgerald and Hiram Martinez will write, executive produce and serve as co-showrunners on the project, which has received a straight-to-series order from Apple. “Weird Al” Yankovic has partnered with Z2 Comics to produce an all-new graphic novel, titled The Illustrated Al: The Songs of “Weird Al” Yankovic. The book, which was written by Yankovic himself, spotlights more than 20 tracks from the parody artist’s decades-long career with accompanying illustrations from a multitude of cartoonists.
