PlayStation VR2 To Arrive With Over 20 “Major” Games at Launch

Sony‘s PlayStation VR2 headset will arrive with over 20 “major” first-party and third-party games at launch, according to a company business segment presentation. Though the slide did not confirm exactly which titles will be initially playable, it did include an image suggesting that the previously announced Horizon spinoff, Horizon Call of the Mountain, will make the list.

There is a considerable amount of money being spent on partnerships with independent and other third-party developers to secure a considerable pipeline of attractive VR content at the launch of PlayStation VR2,” said Sony Interactive Entertainment president Jim Ryan in a statement via Video Games Chronicle.

Both the VR2 headset and Sense controller take on a similar “orb” look to represent the 360-degree nature of virtual reality. The headset includes an adjustable strap for sizing and scope that moves closer or further away from the face. Additionally, the device is equipped with an adjustment dial to change the lens distance between a user’s eyes.

PlayStation has not yet revealed the price or release date for the VR2 headset. The company first unveiled plans for the device in February of last year before sharing preliminary designs the following month. PlayStation did not disclose the headset’s name and detailed specs until February of this year.

Elsewhere in gaming, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II has received a release date.
