SALIVA’s BOBBY AMARU Says Upcoming Reunion Show With JOSEY SCOTT Will Feature Both Singers

SALIVA frontman Bobby Amaru says that “the timing wasn’t right” for the band’s planned reunion with original vocalist Josey Scott. Scott left SALIVA at the end of 2011 after 15 years with the group, reportedly to pursue a solo Christian music career. He was quickly replaced by Amaru, who can be heard on SALIVA‘s last four releases: “In It To Win It” (2013), “Rise Up” (2014), “Love, Lies & Therapy” (2016) and “10 Lives” (2018). In October 2019, Scott announced that he was returning to SALIVA, explaining at the time that he wanted to get together with his former bandmates and “write a badass record.” Less than a year and a half later, in March 2021, SALIVA guitarist Wayne Swinny poured cold water on...

TED NUGENT Defends Florida’s ‘Don’t Say Gay’ Law: ‘It’s About Parental Rights’

Ted Nugent has defended Florida’s controversial new “Don’t Say Gay” law, saying that it is about giving parents “the right to guide and nurture and educate their children.” The law, titled “Parental Rights In Education”, has been dubbed by critics the “Don’t Say Gay” law because it seeks to ban discussion of gender and sexuality issues with younger students. Proponents of the law point out that it doesn’t mention the word “gay” although it does, however, contain the terms “sexual orientation” and “gender identity,” each twice. The most notable part of the law provides that “classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may n...

Vanessa Hudgens Has the “Gift” of Speaking to Ghosts: “I See Things”

Some people think Vanessa Hudgens is great and some people think she’s terrible, but as she revealed in a new appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, she’s a uniquely qualified medium: The High School Musical star said she has been interacting with ghosts her whole life. The subject came up after a conversation about golf, where Clarkson joked about having a few drinks on the golf course. She then turned Hudgens’ attention to harder spirits: “Are you obsessed with ghosts?” she asked. “I’ve accepted the fact that I see things and I hear things,” Hudgens replied. Her apparition condition manifested at a young age, and ever since she’s had “a lot” of paranormal experiences. “Even as a child growing up, I remember getting ready for school when I was 8 years old, and there wa...

The Weeknd to Release Single “Out of Time” on Vinyl Saw Blade

You’ve heard of the Satan Shoe; now, get ready for the vinyl blade. The Weeknd has teamed with Brooklyn hypebeast art collective MSCHF to release his single “Out of Time” on a playable saw blade. MSCHF is the same company that made Lil Nas X’s Satan Shoe, a Nike Air Max 97 marketed as containing a drop of human blood. As The Weeknd continues to promote his new album Dawn FM, the collective is auctioning off 25 vinyl blades for 24 hours only (and a minimum bid of $1,000). Before you break out your wallet, however, beware: MSCHF is sure to warn buyers that “the Vinyl Blade has sharp edges, is a non-standard diameter, and is significantly heavier than a standard vinyl record. All of these factors may affect playback on some turntables.” Plus, its grooves are made of copper-clad steel, wh...

JASON BONHAM Says TAYLOR HAWKINS’s Death Brought Back Memories Of His Father’s Passing

Jason Bonham, whose father is drummer John Bonham, one of the original members of the legendary rock band LED ZEPPELIN, spoke to Joe Rock of Long Island, New York’s 102.3 WBAB radio station about the recent passing of FOO FIGHTERS drummer Taylor Hawkins. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “When we lost Taylor, it open[ed] a floodgate of memory for the day that I found out my father passed. And to [Taylor‘s] family and to his friends and his children, my love and best wishes go to them with every ounce of me. He was a wonderful person. I got to hang with him on several occasions and Dave [Grohl, FOO FIGHTERS frontman], and the whole band are just amazing guys.” Referencing his March 25 performance with SAMMY HAGAR & THE CIRCLE at The STRAT Hotel, Casin...

FOZZY’s CHRIS JERICHO: ‘Rock And Roll Has Always Been Kind Of The Red-Headed Stepchild Of The Music World’

During an appearance on this past Monday’s (April 4) episode of SiriusXM‘s “Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk”, FOZZY frontman and wrestling superstar Chris Jericho spoke about the popular notion that the producers of the Grammy Awards “hate” rock, as evidenced by the fact that they continue to disrespect the heavy metal genre by not including it in the event’s televised portion. “It’s the same way it’s always been, man,” Chris said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET). “Rock and roll has always been kind of the red-headed stepchild of the music world. And it’s just the way that it is. Unless there’s a GUNS N’ ROSES or a METALLICA in ’91 that gets a worldwide, huge push, rock and roll’s always...

HALESTORM’s LZZY HALE On TAYLOR HAWKINS’s Death: ‘It’s Such A Shame’

HALESTORM frontwoman Lzzy Hale has reflected on the passing of FOO FIGHTERS drummer Taylor Hawkins, whose death shook the music world late last month. Speaking to Meltdown of Detroit’s WRIF radio station, she said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “We didn’t know [Taylor] that well. My little brother [HALESTORM drummer Arejay Hale] hung out with him a couple of times. I never got the chance to. But we worked in similar circles. And it was just heartbreaking because we were actually supposed to have a gig with the FOO FIGHTERS in the next couple of months, and so that’s not happening now. And it’s a shame. “We’ve been working with the same producer, Nick Raskulinecz, that did a bunch of those FOOs records with Taylor,” she continued. ̶...

Olivia Rodrigo Kicks Off Her “Sour Tour” in Portland, Oregon: Photos + Setlist

Olivia Rodrigo was already a two-time Grammy winner before she’d even had her own tour. Not the typical order of operations for artists, but Rodrigo is a new kind of pop star. With her Best New Artist gramophone in tow, the “drivers license” singer finally launched her first-ever headlining tour on Tuesday, April 5th at Portland, Oregon’s Theater of the Clouds — and our photographer Dan Garcia was there to capture it all. The “Sour Tour” kick-off concert featured an entire (if out of order) run-through of the album of the same name — not surprising as Sour is Rodrigo’s only LP. The setlist was padded with a pair of covers: Avril Lavigne’s “Complicated” (in honor of “the pop-punk princess herself,” as Rodrigo put it) and Veruca Salt’s “Seether.” Below, find a photo gallery of Olivia Ro...

Rammstein Undergo Radical Plastic Surgery in Video for New Single “Zick Zack”: Watch

Rammstein have unveiled another new single ahead of their forthcoming album, Zeit. The latest song is called “Zick Zack” and it was preceded by a clever marketing campaign. On April 1st, Rammstein announced that they had invested in the “Zick Zack Beauty Clinic” in Berlin, which many fans thought to be an April Fools joke. While there’s no proof of the existence of the beauty clinic, fans around the world called a “Zick Zack” hotline to speak with a “team of experts.” Now, it’s evident that the campaign was tied to the new single and its accompanying music video, which, according to a press release, “deal with what is nowadays often a compulsive tendency on the part of the individual towards self-optimization, sometimes through radical alteration of the visual appearance by use of the scal...
