Elon Musk Shares Transphobic Meme Following Report of Grimes Dating Chelsea Manning

Following reports that Elon Musk’s ex-partner Grimes has been dating Chelsea Manning, the billionaire expressed his feelings like many another emotionally-stunted bigot: by posting a transphobic meme on Twitter. Musk shared an image from the Sad Pablo Escobar meme template. It shows the character of Escobar (played by Wagner Moura in the Netflix series Narcos) sitting on a bench and looking forlorn. The ungrammatical text reads: “Netflix waiting for the war to end to make a movie about a black ukraine guy falls in love with a transgender russian soldier.” We’re not going to share it in this article, but you can find it here. Musk didn’t directly reference Manning, who is a trans woman. But this is not the first time he’s made derogatory jokes about the trans community, and during the ...

PHIL DEMMEL Says He Will Miss Some VIO-LENCE Shows Due To Other Touring Commitments: ‘I Need To Be A Little Selfish’

During an appearance on “Talking Bollocks”, the monthly metal podcast hosted by ACID REIGN frontman-turned-stand-up-comedian Howard H. Smith, VIO-LENCE/ex-MACHINE HEAD guitarist Phil Demmel, who is currently touring the U.S. with OVERKILL as the temporary replacement for Dave Linsk, confirmed that he will be forced to miss some of VIO-LENCE‘s upcoming gigs due to his touring commitments with other projects. “There’s some VIO-LENCE stuff coming up that I’m not gonna be able to be a part of because of choices that I’m making in my own career,” he explained (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET). “VIO-LENCE was a side thing that we were doing. It was understood that I’m doing other stuff and that this would happen,” he continued....

NITA STRAUSS On Her Upcoming Solo Album: ‘Some Of My Very Favorite Singers Are On This Record With Me’

Last October, Nita Strauss, the Los Angeles-based guitar shredder for the ALICE COOPER band, shared “Dead Inside”, her first new solo music since the release of her debut album, 2018’s “Controlled Chaos”. The track is her first-ever solo collaboration with a vocalist, David Draiman, frontman of Grammy-nominated rock icons DISTURBED. Speaking to Canada’s iHeartRadio about the fan response to the single, Nita said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “It’s been amazing. It’s exciting ’cause I think a lot of my fans are not necessarily the typical instrumental guitar fans; they’re rock fans who happen to like the way that I play guitar. So I think people were excited to get a song that’s a little more accessible — someth...

SKID ROW Guitarist On Failed 2016 Reunion With SEBASTIAN BACH: ‘We Couldn’t Even Get Past The Point Of Simple Texting’

In a new interview with Scott Penfold of Loaded Radio, SKID ROW guitarist Dave “Snake” Sabo was asked how he feels about people still calling for a reunion with the band’s former singer Sebastian Bach. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “Well, it’s been 23 years [since SKID ROW reformed], so to say that I’m over it would be an understatement. We attempted [a reunion] slightly [back in 2016]. We dipped our toes in the water and realized that it didn’t feel so good. It’s just one of those things where we still could not see eye to eye; we couldn’t even get past the point of simple texting. “I am really, really happy where we are,” Snake continued. “I’m very proud of our past, and all due credit to everyb...

Puss in Boots Uses Up Eight Lives in New Trailer for The Last Wish: Watch

Puss and Boots is down to his ninth and final life in the new trailer for DreamWorks’ The Last Wish. This is the long-gestating sequel to 2011’s Puss in Boots, which itself was a spinoff of 2004’s Shrek 2. Antonio Banderas returns as the titular fearless feline, who begins the trailer by defeating a giant, but who lingers in his victory speech a little too long and finds himself crushed to death. That’s nothing new to Puss in Boots, who, as he soon recounts, has died a number of times. There was the bull-fighting incident, the time he didn’t land on his feet, the mix-up with seafood, and the whoopsie in a cannon. He’s a bit slow to count it up — “I’m not really a math guy,” he says — but to his horror, he soon realizes he has already perished eight times. “What do ...

Japanese Breakfast and Alton Brown on Cooking, Music, and Cooking While Listening to Music

What do celebrity chef and TV host Alton Brown and Grammy-nominated indie rock star Michelle Zauner (AKA Japanese Breakfast) have in common? Quite a few things, believe it or not; both have a passionate love of food, with Alton Brown hosting multiple Food Network shows and Zauner exploring the relationship between food, love, and grief in her memoir, Crying in H Mart.  Not only that, they’re both musicians; Zauner released her excellent third studio album Jubilee last year, whereas Brown is currently trekking across the country with his “ABL: Beyond The Eats” tour, which features him fronting a live band every night in addition to food science experiments, live cooking, and more. Together, they’re both ambassadors and sonic enthusiasts for Fender’s new futuristic and visually stunning...

AMC Entertainment Buys Stake in Literal Gold Mine One Year After Flirting with Bankruptcy

With the energy of a person who becomes newly engaged two days after leaving rehab, AMC Entertainment — a company that nearly went bankrupt less than a year ago  — has spent $27.9 million on the troubled gold and silver mining company Hycroft, despite having zero experience in the excavation of rare metals. The Hycroft Mining Holding Corp. owns the 71,000-acre Hycroft Mine in northern Nevada, which is thought to possess “some 15 million ounces of gold deposits and some 600 million ounces of silver deposit,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. AMC Entertainment has purchased a 22% stake in the company, and Adam Aron, the chairman and CEO, sounds positively manic about the decision. “To state the obvious, one would not normally think that a movie theater company’s core c...

Cardi B Reveals She’s a My Chemical Romance Stan: “They Don’t Make Music Like This Anymore”

Don’t hold your breath, but Cardi B might be the next rapper to come out with a pop-punk album. As 2000s emo continues its unexpected second (third?) cultural zeitgeist moment, the Bronx artist has revealed a pressing fascination with… My Chemical Romance? “They don’t make music like this anymore,” Cardi B tweeted Tuesday (March 15th), attaching a short clip of the MCR classic “I’m Not Okay (I Promise).” As of this writing, the tweet has already wracked up over 25,000 likes, a testament to the world’s excitement as the band’s long-awaited, oft-rescheduled reunion tour inches closer to becoming a reality. Cardi B is hardly the first hip-hop artist to dabble in pop-punk. WILLOW and Machine Gun Kelly recently fell in love with an “emo girl,” and Kid Cudi and Lil Peep were rapping about their ...
