SLIPKNOT Shares Official Performance Video For ‘The Chapeltown Rag’

SLIPKNOT has released an official performance video for the single “The Chapeltown Rag”, which is available on all streaming platforms. The M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan-directed visual frames the visceral experience of the band’s unparalleled live performance. True to form, heavy music’s generational ambassadors in SLIPKNOT set the community ablaze late last year with the launch of a brand new offensive packaged with cryptic fanfare. Within the span of about a week’s time, the band methodically disseminated veiled messaging from the then unreleased music, fueling speculation that their plan of attack was imminent. Launching an all-out blitz, “The Chapeltown Rag” surfaced as SLIPKNOT‘s first showing of new material since “We Are N...

Fontaines D.C. Unveil New Song “I Love You”: Stream

Fontaines D.C. are back with a brooding new single. Listen to “I Love You” below. Like the curt “Life ain’t always empty” refrain of 2020’s “A Hero’s Death,” “I Love You” pounds its positive message into your skull with music so menacing, you question its intent. “I love you, I love you, I told you I do,” Grian Chatten insists, as swirling, Cure-style guitar fades in over slow-thumping bass. “It’s all I’ve ever felt, I’ve never felt so well,” he speak-sings. Once more with feeling, perhaps? “Ostensibly a love song,” as a press release puts it, Dublin’s favorite post punks fit some local commentary into the song of devotion as well, prompting Chatten to name the single “the first overtly political song we’ve written.” “It’s standing in the center of our beloved home country as a multitude o...

The single was recorded and mixed in January 2021 at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden with producer Jens Bogren. Related Video “We’ve been quiet over the last two years, but we’ve been at home in Sweden hard at work behind the scenes,” the band said in a press statement. “Much has been s...

Dave Grohl Planning to Release Thrash Metal Album Next Week

Dave Grohl is planning to release a full-length thrash metal album, and it’ll likely arrive sometime in the next week. To coincide with the release of Foo Fighters’ new horror film, Studio 666, the band recorded music under the moniker Dream Widow. Grohl quietly released one of Dream Widow’s tracks, “March of the Insane,” earlier this week, but he says there’s an entire album’s worth of material on the way. Studio 666 follows Foo Fighters as they record their album, Medicine at Midnight, in a haunted mansion. As Grohl explained during an interview on The Howard Stern Show this week, Dream Widow’s music is a central plot point in the film. “I wind up finding this creepy basement. And I go into the basement, I find this tape by a band [Dream Widow] from 25 years ago that recorded there. And ...

THE WINERY DOGS’ Third Album Likely Won’t Be Released Before 2023

During an appearance last Friday (February 11) on SiriusXM‘s “Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk”, guitarist/vocalist Richie Kotzen spoke about the progress of the recording sessions for the third album from THE WINERY DOGS, his power trio with legendary bassist Billy Sheehan (MR. BIG, TALAS, DAVID LEE ROTH) and drummer Mike Portnoy (DREAM THEATER, AVENGED SEVENFOLD). He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “All my lead vocals are done. All my guitars are done. The only thing that I didn’t do is some of the record-making things — like sometimes you might wanna double a certain guitar line or Mike has to do some percussion stuff. And then Billy and Mike need to put their singing on there. But other than that, my lead vocals are done and my guitars are done, so...

She’s gonna be writing and playing forever — I mean, she’s a badass artist and bass player, singer, everything, songwriter. So I got the invitation, and I’m, like, ‘Yeah, of course I’m gonna join. Of course.'” Asked ...

DREAM THEATER’s JAMES LABRIE Explains How He Earned ‘Pirate’ Nickname

In a new interview with Alicia Atout, DREAM THEATER singer James LaBrie explained the origins of the nickname “Pirate,” which was given to him by one of his bandmates. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “I have a proclivity of being somewhat… I guess I can be moody at times, but normally I’m usually straight and even and a real nice guy. But there’s this tendency of me, depending on what’s going on on the road, and it’s usually if I’m not feeling well — like anybody — I can get moody. So Jordan Rudess, our esteemed keyboard player… One day I was in one of those moods, just, like, ‘Hey, just leave me alone. I’m dealing with stuff. I’ve got a really wicked cold,’ and whatever; that whole singer syndrome bullsh...

Willie Nelson Cancels Indoor Concerts Over COVID-19 Precautions

If you want to catch Willie Nelson on tour this year, you might have to do it outside: The outlaw country legend has canceled a handful of his indoor headlining concerts this spring out of an abundance of caution regarding COVID-19. “We are canceling our indoor headline shows until the COVID situation improves, as the safety of the audience and Willie and his touring personnel are of the utmost importance,” Nelson’s representative said in a statement. “When we are able, we will look to make up shows when possible.” According to his publicist (via Billboard), all of Nelson’s March shows have been canceled except for his Luck Reunion show on March 17th, which he holds each year at his own ranch outside of Austin, Texas. Judge Blocks Release of Bob Saget’s Death Records At Family’s Request

A Florida judge has granted a request by the family of Bob Saget to temporarily block the release of any photos, videos, or other records related to the investigation into his death. According to lawsuit filed by Saget’s wife, Kelly Rizzo, and his three daughters, several media outlets had filed requests for the public release of these documents from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the local medical examiner’s office. The family’s complaint argued that “no legitimate public interest would be served by the release or dissemination of the records to the public.” The records reportedly include graphic videos and photos of Saget’s body, as well as audio recordings recorded during the course of the investigation and autopsy.
