Did anyone order a Ted Lasso and Sesame Street crossover episode? Brett Goldstein, who stars as gruff retired footballer Roy Kent in Apple TV+’s hit sports sitcom, paid a visit to Big Bird and his friends recently. He’ll be featured in an episode of Sesame Street scheduled to air sometime later this year. In a clip shared to Twitter, Goldstein is seen hanging out alongside Oscar the Grouch in a trash bin as Big Bird wanders by. “I met a kindred spirit the other day,” Goldstein wrote in the caption. “I told him we had a lot in common. He told me to scram.” But there was certainly no grouching involved when Goldstein shared an Instagram post expressing his gratitude. “I finally found my way to Sesame Street (all you have to do is ask, through the medium of song) and it was more wonderfu...
HBO has announced a new two-part documentary on Larry David, which will premiere Tuesday, March 1st at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. The Larry David Story is directed by David’s longtime friend and partner Larry Charles. The documentary finds the two men in conversation, as David “gets candid about his personal and professional highs and lows, from his humble beginnings as an unfunny Brooklyn kid to becoming America’s favorite misanthrope.” David will discuss Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, parenthood, and even metaphysics, according to HBO, which describes the doc as “genuine, hilarious, and eye-opening.” “I’m a total fraud,” David admits in a trailer for The Larry David Story. The Curb outlet, for me, is this guy who I want to be.” He’s completely honest, just the opposite of who I am.” Advertisement...
SEPULTURA frontman Derrick Green recently stopped by the “Talk Toomey” podcast to talk about his band’s upcoming tour with SACRED REICH and CROWBAR. In the clip below, Derrick and host Joshua Toomey discuss what Derrick must have on tour. Green said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “Well, I think on this tour I definitely will bring a yoga mat for stretching out in crazy backstage dirty areas — to lay down and to be able to stretch out and to do some exercises before the show. So that’s essential. Let’s see… Definitely good headphones for listening to music other than metal [laughs], or heavy music — some soft listening. I would have to say the next thing would be some vitamins. You never know what you’re necessarily gonna get on the road but ...
RATING: 8.5/10 The furious midpoint between primitive death metal and caustic thrash has always been one of the most exciting places to bang your head. The full-length follow-up to 2020’s utterly murderous “Voices” EP, “Recollections of the Insane” confirms that Belgium’s SCHIZOPHRENIA are flying the death / thrash flag with venomous pride, and doing it with more ferocity and conviction than most. This is well-trodden territory, of course. Anyone who grew up with the sound of SLAYER, KREATOR, POSSESSED or early SEPULTURA ringing in their ears will feel immediately at home here, but SCHIZOPHRENIA are several degrees more intense than anything those bands were capable of back in the day. A couple of decades of spiteful extremity have given them a sense of ...
During a recent interview with Germany’s Metal Hammer magazine, SABATON singer Joakim Brodén was shown covers of several old issues of Metal Hammer and was asked to comment on each one. When he saw a cover featuring iconic MOTÖRHEAD frontman Ian “Lemmy” Kilmister, Joakim said: “I met him the first time [in] 2005 or ’03 at the Sweden Rock Festival. I saw him coming. I was standing in the backstage bar. He was coming up and about to order a drink. And I knew he liked the Maker’s Mark whisky. I mean, he likes Jack Daniel’s, and that’s what he usually drinks, but he also liked the Maker’s Mark. So I ordered him a double from the other bar, and when he got it, the bartender sort of showed [to Lemmy], ‘It’s from him.’ So he ...
Ted Nugent has once again spoken out aganist the campaign to kick podcast host Joe Rogan off Spotify for allegedly spreading false narratives about the coronavirus. Last month, critics said Joe uses his “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast to peddle dangerous misinformation about COVID-19 vaccines to his millions of listeners. A backlash followed, including legendary rocker Neil Young removing his music from the streaming platform and a petition demanding action from Spotify signed by hundreds of doctors, scientists and public health professionals. Nugent weighed in on the controversy swirling around Rogan‘s podcast during today’s (Wednesday, February 14) edition of “The Nightly Nuge”, a news-style clip in which Ted offers his take on the news of our world...

In an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Buddy explained how his upbringing influenced Superghetto. ...
Melania Trump auctioned off an NFT last month for about $170,000, but as Vice reports, the funds for the winning bid came from the same crypto wallet that created the NFT. So did the former First Lady buy her own NFT? And if not, what happened? Trump first got into selling NFTs, or non-fungible tokens, last year. Her latest auction involved the “Head of State Collection, 2022”, which included an NFT, a water color, and a white broad-brimmed hat that she wore for a visit from French President Emmanuel Macron in 2018 (pictured above). The sale took place three weeks ago on the Solana blockchain for 1,800 SOL (about $182,000 today, but closer to $170,000 last month). As The New York Times reported at the time, this was significantly below the $250,000 that Trump had been seekin...
Though LeVar Burton hasn’t hosted Reading Rainbow since it ended in 2006, he’s still finding ways to encourage young children to pick up a book. In light of recent book bans across certain schools in the US, Burton appeared on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah with some sage advice: Read forbidden literature. The book ban outrage came to a head last month when a Tennessee school board voted to ban Maus — Art Spiegelman’s Pulitzer Prize-winning graphic novel based on his father’s experience at Auschwitz — claiming it contained material that was inappropriate for students. While classics like the Harry Potter series and Huckleberry Finn have all been subjected to some silly schoolwide bans in the past, Black authors have been particularly targeted, with LGBTQ and ...
Wye Oak singer Jenn Wasner has shared “Pure Love” and “Time,” two new songs from her solo project Flock of Dimes. “Pure Love” and “Time” arrive as part of the singles series from Sylvan Esso’s Psychic Hotline label. Co-produced by Wasner and Sylvan Esso’s Nick Sanborn and recorded at Betty’s in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, the singles offer a welcome respite from pandemic-induced darkness. “After spending so much time over the past two years sitting with my grief — both personally and creatively — I’m thrilled to offer up two songs that center joy, hopefulness, and pleasure,” Wasner said in a statement. “What can I say about ‘Pure Love’? It’s a fun pop song about how wanting more is the cause of so much suffering! To me, overall, it’s a song about reaching for a more pure way of being...
