Third Eye Blind Announce 2022 Tour with Taking Back Sunday
Third Eye Blind are celebrating their 25th year as a band in style by going on a tour with fellow alt rock veterans Taking Back Sunday. Called “Summer Gods: 25 Years in the Blind,” the summer US trek will also feature Aussie rockers Hockey Dad as openers. Kicking off on June 22nd in Troutdale, Oregon, the joint tour will feature stops in cities like Chicago, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Houston, and Las Vegas before wrapping up on August 13th in Irvine, California. A portion of proceeds from each ticket will go to SeaTrees, an organization that Third Eye Blind has teamed with to help restore the kelp ecosystem off the coast of California. Less than a year after sharing his self-titled fourth album, Vince Staples has another full-length project on the way. As a preview, the rapper has dropped “Magic,” the first single from the forthcoming Ramona Park Broke My Heart. With a bouncy pop-rap beat courtesy of Mustard, “Magic” is an instant earworm with a sunny exterior, although its subject matter has a darker connotation. The track sees Staples reminisce on his working-class upbringing in North Long Beach, California. “I’d never get to pull up in a Benz with my locs,” he quips. RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE Announces Rescheduled Dates For First Leg Of ‘Public Service Announcement’ Tour
Last month, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE postponed the start date of its much-anticipated “Public Service Announcement” to this summer. The North American leg of the trek was originally slated to begin in March 2020 before it was rescheduled several times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. San Francisco Bay Area thrashers VIO-LENCE have released the official music video for “Let The World Burn”, the title track of their upcoming EP. The five-song collection, their first original release since 1993’s “Nothing To Gain”, will be available worldwide on March 4 via Metal Blade Records. “Let The World Burn” marks the third video in VIO-LENCE‘s catalog, following “World In A World” (off 1990’s “Oppressing The Masses”) and the 2020 single “California Über Alles”, a cover version of the DEAD KENNEDYS classic. You Black Emperor have finally reissued their “lost” debut album, All Lights Fucked on the Hairy Amp Drooling. For years, 1994’s All Lights Fucked on the Hairy Amp Drooling was something akin to a myth. The effort was created almost entirely by Efrim Menuck under the name God Speed You Black Emperor! (note the different spelling and punctuation). According to the band, only 33 copies of the album existed on cassette, and even almost 30 years later, no confirmed tapes have turned up.
