According to an upcoming documentary, seven women have come forth accusing Westwood of sexual misconduct. The BBC reports that Westwood, now 64, finds himself at the opposite end of the explosive allegations that reportedly date back to 1992. In addition, The Guardian also obtained accounts from the accusers via a joint investigative report from the two publications. Twitter saw mass “organic” deactivations and huge fluctuations in follower numbers for some of the platform’s highest-profile users in the days after Elon Musk agreed to a $44 billion takeover deal of the social media giant. According to an NBC News report published Tuesday, the follower numbers for some of Twitter’s most-followed accounts, including former President Barack Obama, singers Katy Perry and Taylor Swift all dropped by hundreds of thousands. Obama, who is Twitter’s most-followed user with 131.7 million followers, saw his follower count fall by 300,000 since Monday. Perry, who has 108.8 million followers, lost 200,000. Universal Music Group Sued Over Kanye West’s King Crimson Sample on “Power”

Universal Music Group (UMG) has been hit with a lawsuit over the King Crimson “21st Century Schizoid Man” sample Kanye West used on “Power.” Declan Colgan Music Ltd (DCM) — the owners of the mechanical rights of “21st Century Schizoid Man” — is alleging that UMG has not been paying them the proper amount of streaming royalties from “Power.” Reports state that DCM, Ye and his production company Rock the World previously signed a deal that allowed the artist to sample the track in return for a 5.33% royalty on each copy of “Power” sold or “otherwise exploited,” and that DCM should receive the royalties “on the same terms” as West did. Universal Music Group is facing a lawsuit over the King Crimson sample in Kanye West’s “Power,” Law360 and Variety report. Famously, the single uses a sample of King Crimson’s “21st Century Schizoid Man,” and mechanical rights holder Declan Colgan Music Ltd claims that UMG has underpaid streaming royalties for “Power.” Pitchfork has contacted representatives for UMG and attorneys for DCM for comment and more information. “Power” appears on West’s 2010 album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, and members of King Crimson are listed in the credits for the track. Earth, Wind & Fire Saxophonist Andrew Woolfolk Has Died

Andrew Woolfolk, a longtime saxophone player for Earth, Wind & Fire, has died. In an Instagram post, Woolfolk’s Earth, Wind & Fire band mate Philip Bailey wrote that Woolfolk had been dealing with a serious illness for several years. He was 71. Pitchfork has contacted representatives for Earth, Wind & Fire for comment. Woolfolk joined the band in 1972, sticking with the outfit through 1985. He re-joined the band when they returned from a hiatus in 1987 and kept his role until 1993. Bailey, who had known Woolfolk since their high-school days, had recruited him to the group after the departure of Ronnie Laws.
