With the new year officially here, Disney+ has unveiled its slate of new programming for January 2023. This month will see the season two premiere of the animated Star Wars TV series The Bad Batch, along with new episodes of Willow and National Treasure: Edge of History. George R.R. Martin has stated that the current shakeups over at HBO Max are changing the course of the Game of Thrones franchise. In a recent blog post, the author explained that aside from House of the Dragon, “some [spinoffs] are moving faster than others, as is always the case with development. The success of Avatar: The Way of Water has translated into numbers, officially surpassing the $1 billion USD mark at the global box office in just 14 days. Maintaining its top spot for the past two weeks, the film has become this year’s fastest film to hit the box office milestone. In 2022, only three films hit the billion-dollar mark. With its successful box office opening, many people around the world have watched the sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water. Director James Cameron recently spoke to Esquire Middle East and revealed that despite the film already being just under 3.5 hours, he had in fact cut out 10 minutes of the film due to violent gunplay. The legendary director admitted, “I had a bit of a crisis of faith as we were cutting the movie together. It was too violent.
