The eyeglasses that serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer wore in prison is going up for sale for $150,000 USD. The item is being sold by Taylor James of Cult Collectibles in Vancouver, Canada who claims that he acquired the glasses and several other items of the Milwaukee Cannibal from the former housekeeper of Dahmer’s father, Lionel. The collection, which also includes Dahmer’s cutlery, bible, family photos and several paperwork, is now being managed and sold by James for a portion of the profit. 20th Century Studios has announced that production for a new Planet of the Apes movie will officially begin next month with a scheduled release date set for 2024. The upcoming sequel is the franchise’s sixth title based on Pierre Boulle’s French novel, Planet of the Apes, published in 1963. Titled “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes,” the movie is set “many years” after the events of War for the Planet of the Apes in which Caesar and his apes were pitted against an army of humans in a postapocalyptic war that would determine the fate of both of their species. The shots offer fresh glimpses at the show’s main characters including Riri Williams’ Ironheart, the successor to Iron Man who builds her own high-tech armor suit, and T’Challa’s lover Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) who’s pictured in mourning. Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California has just found a way to upcycle one of its oldest attractions in the form of the Pirates of the Caribbean Heritage Timeline. The collectible is a cut from the Rusty Fig tree that acted as the ride’s line decor. When it was discovered that the trees were diseased and were required to be cut down, Rhonda Wood, a park employee and forester pitched the idea of turning the slabs of wood into souvenirs. Each piece documents the history of the tree and their connection to the ride — from when the trees were planted in 1987 to when the ride was updated with Jack Sparrow and Captain Barbossa in 2006. NBCUniversal’s Peacock has ordered a feature film based on the cult-favorite Dan Harom comedy series, Community. The project, titled Community: The Movie, will provide a long-awaited update on all things new in Greendale with the return of original stars Joel McHale, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Jim Rash and Ken Jeong. Tarzan may be swinging into theaters again, according to sources via The Hollywood Reporter. Sony Pictures has secured the screen rights to the famed character from creator Edgar Rice Burroughs’ estate and is looking to facilitate a “total reinvention” of the title and its intellectual property, per the outlet.
