A live-action film based on the classic arcade game Pac-Man is currently being developed by the original company behind the video game, Bandai Namco Entertainment, and Wayfarer Studios, led by Justin Baldoni and Steve Sarowitz. First released in 1980, Pac-Man is a game where players control a munching yellow puck who must eat all the dots in the maze while avoiding colored ghosts. The game was a widespread commercial success, becoming one of the best-selling games ever, and continues to permeate into contemporary culture. Adding to the anticipation of the anime adaptation of Chainsaw Man, studio MAPPA has now released the third trailer for the upcoming series. Directed by Ryū Nakayama, the animated series is a faithful adaptation of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s popular manga serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump. Tom Cruise and producer Christopher McQuarrie are set to develop three new projects, with the Top Gun: Maverick staple set to star. Although Cruise is currently in the midst of filming Mission: Impossible 8, reports claim that he and McQuarrie are currently working on three new projects — “an original song and dance-style musical,” an action film “with franchise potential” and possibly a Les Grossman-focused — the studio executive character Cruise played in Tropic Thunder — title, however the latter may not be a full film and instead join other titles. Amongst the copies sold, 416,566,000 are sold in Japan with 100 million copies sold in areas outside of the origin country in 60 countries and regions overseas. In June 2015, the manga also set another record for selling 320,866,000 copies worldwide by December 2014.
