Critically-acclaimed director J.J. Abrams has signed on to produce a live-action adaptation of Mattel‘s iconic Hot Wheels for Warner Bros. The project marks the first major film title under Abrams’ Bad Robot deal with Warner Bros. Variety has noted that very little detail has been released regarding the plot of the film however, it does surround “the world’s hottest and sleekest cars, monster trucks and motorcycles.” The project is fitting for the 54-year-old heritage toy brand, which is also the number one selling toy in the world. Noonan’s, a Harley Quinn animated spinoff series, has received a straight-to-series order at HBO Max, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The 10-episode adult comedy series, which is helmed by Dean Lorey, will center on Kite Man and Golden Glider, two criminals who purchase Gotham’s grungiest dive bar, Noonan’s. Matt Oberg will voice act in the starring role of Kite Man. The show’s HBO Max order comes as Harley Quinn, which voice stars Kaley Cuoco, is gearing up to enter its third season this summer. Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson is gearing up to star in a Peacock series based on his own life. The comedy series, titled Bupkis, will feature half-hour episodes that depict a “heightened, fictionalized version of Pete Davidson’s real life,” according to the company. Sony has announced new movies for its Venom and Ghostbusters series. The studio will reportedly be developing Venom 3, marking Tom Hardy‘s third appearance as Eddie Brock following 2021’s Venom: Let There Be Carnage, which earned $502 million USD at the global box office, and 2018’s Venom, which earned $856 million USD. The announcement was first revealed by series star Sammi Haney who shared the news on Instagram. She wrote, “Sad to say that Raising Dion is CANCELED. Marvel Entertainment has released yet another promotional teaser leading up to the cinematic release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. In this particular promo spot, The clip begins with an image of Doctor Strange, along with images of other characters set to appear in the sequel including Wong and Scarlet Witch. The voice of The Ancient One plays over the images, and can be heard saying, “This universe is only one of an infinite number, Mr. Strange.” The Ancient One was famously played by Tilda Swinton and first made here appearance in the franchise in 2016.
