The recent cancelling of Cowboy Bepop has not deterred Netflix from taking on more live-action adaptations of animes. It has just been announced that the Mega Man script announced back in 2018 will be coming to life on the streaming platform. Supermarché, as well as Chernin Entertainment and Netflix, will all be taking part in this task for the live-action of Capcom‘s Rockman character. Many fans are iffy on this one, as much as they would like to see Mega Man exposed to a new generation of fans, history has shown us that these live-actions are very difficult to pull off. During the recent Tsuburaya Convention 2021 livestream event, Tsuburaya Productions shared a new teaser for Studio Khara‘s Shin Ultraman. Additionally, the upcoming film received a release date after its initial 2021 release was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The new teaser shows Ultraman rising from a cloud of smoke before dramatically delivering his signature finisher, the Specium Ray. It is interesting to note that the early looks at Ultraman do not show the hero sporting his familiar color timer. The teaser ends with a retro title card inspired by the materials associated with the original TV series created back in 1966. The official list of the 2022 Golden Globes nominees has been released. This year’s 79th Annual Golden Globes Awards come at a sensitive time as NBC had decided earlier this year that they will not be airing the ceremonies. The controversy occurred after an exposé of the Globes revealed the lack of diversity in the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. In response to the backlash, the HFPA announced in October that it has its “most diverse” class of new members this year. This year’s nominations were announced by rapper Snoop Dogg. Disney has now greenlit a live-action tv series reboot for Zorro, and Wilmer Valderrama is set to play the titular hero. According to a new report from The Hollywood Reporter, the media giant intends to bring the legendary Latino hero back via a “telenovela style” series under Disney Branded Television, with former Disney Channel president Gary Marsh acting as producer alongside Valderrama himself. Spider-Man: No Way Home has been one of the most highly-anticipated films this year. A month after dropping the first teaser for the Ultraman anime’s second season, Netflix and Tsuburaya Productions have now unveiled the series’ new key art along with the announcement of its release window. For fans of the action-packed anime, Ultraman season two will finally arrive on Netflix in April 2022, exactly three years since the first season’s debut back in 2019. Japan releases its character posters, opting for a different aesthetic than the English posters released earlier this month. The Japanese black and white character posters feature six movie characters wearing different styles of sunglasses in red and blue tints, referring to the two pills that can be taken. Just as WB Games Montréal is developing a video game for Gotham Knights, the CW is now expanding on its own DC content with a live-action series of the Batman-related heroes. According to new reports, the network is now working on the series that will follow Bruce Wayne’s son following the murder of Batman as he teams up with the children of different villains within Gotham. Though not a spin-off of Batwoman, the project will be helmed by its writers James Stoteraux, Chad Fiveash and Natalie Abrams, and has no connection with the upcoming game either.
