Snoop Dogg is teaming up with 50 Cent to bring the story of his murder trial to Starz. A Moment in Time: Murder was the Case, a working title, is currently in development and is executive produced by the two hip-hop powerhouses. The project marks the second installment in an anthology series that focuses on the criminal events that occur behind the scenes in hip-hop history. Variety has reported that the project will be set in 1993, the time of Snoop’s trial for the first-degree murder of Phili Woldermariam. Woldermariam was a rival gang member who actually killed Snoop’s bodyguard, McKinley Lee. Warner Bros. has released the official trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore. Written by J.K. Rowling, the new movie is the third installment of the Harry Potter spin-off series with David Yates returning as the film’s director. The almost three-minute visual showcases Professor Albus Dumbledore entrusting Magizoologist Newt Scamander to lead a ragtag team of wizards, witches and a muggle to stop Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald from taking over the wizarding world. Kingsman director Matthew Vaughn has now confirmed that the third installment of the popular spy comedy franchise will wrap up Eggsy’s story arc. Teasing a recent interview with the director, Comicbook.com revealed that Vaughn will be concluding Taron Egerton’s role in the franchise with Kingsman 3, which is currently set to start filming in September 2022. With the release date of The Matrix Resurrections inching ever closer, Warner Bros. released a new trailer over at The Game Awards 2021 bringing back one of the original trilogy’s fan-favorite characters: Laurence Fishburne‘s Morpheus. Featured above, the new clip follows Keanu Reeves‘ Neo as he gets reacquainted with the Matrix and the duality of his world, with Jessica Henwick’s Bugs as his tour guide. After stepping through different dimensions and locations, Neo ultimately walks into a room to meet the film’s new Morpheus, played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who plays to him clips of his past. A first-edition Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone has just sold for a staggering $471,000 USD. The book was sold over at Heritage Auctions and one of only 500 hardback versions of the iconic tale ever printed and published back in 1997. Bidding started at $75,000 USD but quickly surged. “It’s the most expensive commercially published 20th-century work of fiction ever sold,” said the auction house’s executive VP Joe Maddalena. “This result shows the power of that combination of literature and cinema.” Aside from the first-edition Harry Potter, the rest of the auction included some 70 first editions from other popular literary works that ultimately got adapted into films.
