In celebration of its LGBTQIA2+ fans, Behaviour Interactive has now introduced Dead by Daylight‘s first gay character: David King. Having joined the game as a DLC pack in 2o17, King is most known for his high-risk high-reward gameplay style, described by the developer as a “hot-tempered ruffian with a penchant for a good scrap, whose time as a debt collector brought pain both internal and external.” Aside from confirming the news, the studio is also placing King at the center of its latest Tome, DEVOTION, which gives players “deeper insight into a new side of David’s character,” elaborating on his backstory and personal connections. “One of the cornerstones of that community are our LGBTQIA2+ players, who continue to elevate Dead by Daylight with their tireless passion for horror, gam...
Known for its detailed open-world and endless possibilities for exploration, Elden Ring is a cult favorite among gamers. One fan, however, was curious as to what the game would look like if it were made for Game Boy. Reddit user Shintendo has shared their redesign of Elden Ring as an 8-bit Game Boy demo. Staged in the game’s Chapel of Anticipation, the minute-long demo shows a Tarnished who meets its match against the Grafted Scion. Following the encounter, a “You Died” message appears. Shintendo explained that they created the demo using GB Studio 3.0, calling it ”a really impressive and brand new piece of software,” and that it will be playable on actual hardware. They plan to release a full-length demo come the end of May on Itch.io. In other gaming news, Sony is asking developers ...

2K Games is reportedly developing a competitor to Psyonix‘s Rocket League. Named Gravity Goal, new reports suggest that the NBA 2K developer is looking to tap into the automotive football genre by taking Rocket League and slightly changing up its gameplay. While the core premise of the game remains the same, 2K’s version will apparently feature Tron-like bikes instead of cars, and players will also be able to throw discs around to attack other opponents instead of simply crashing into them in Psyonix‘s game. The discs will also vary in damage and power depending on how fast you’re going, and they’ll either slow down your enemy or stun them for a short while. So far, it seems the game is in its alpha stage and 2K will reportedly officially reveal the title...
Sony‘s revamped PlayStation Plus service is set to launch on June 13 for the Americas, and the company is now reportedly asking game developers to create time-limited demos to pad out the upcoming Game Pass alternative. While the top tier of the new PlayStation Plus will offer gamers more than 700 titles at launch, it’s important to note that the service won’t be getting any day-one releases like Microsoft‘s Xbox counterpart. In hopes of persuading more fans to subscribe, reports are now suggesting that the Japanese gaming giant is asking video game developers to make longer, exclusive demos for its subscribers to try out. New games that are priced above the $34 USD mark and not VR releases will be required to satisfy this requirement from Sony, and the demo must be released within three m...
Ubisoft has now ended online services for 91 different games. According to a new report from Kotaku, the gaming studio has gradually shut down multiplayer servers and online support for a massive roster of its older titles over the past year. None of the titles in the list will be receiving updates and multiplayer features anymore, and you won’t be able to earn any Units to unlock in-game rewards either. For PC players, you’ll also lose access to all the extra content you’ve previously unlocked, although this doesn’t seem to apply to console players as long as you have your old save locally. Of course, this also means you won’t be able to earn any more new trophies and achievements. Some of the biggest titles affected by the shutdown include Far Cry and Far Cry 2, Splinter Cell a...
