JNI urges Nigerian government to investigate repeated air crashes
YouTube The Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) has called on the Federal Government to investigate repeated air crashes to prevent further loss of lives in the country. It urged the government to constitute a formidable investigative panel of experts to unearth the recurring mystery. The Secretary General of JNI, Dr Khalid Aliyu, made the appeal in a statement issued on Tuesday in Kaduna. Nigerian government establishes 20 new marriage registries
The Federal Government has established 20 new Federal Marriage Registries across the country in a bid to bring Federal Marriage Registry closer to the grassroots. Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola disclosed this Friday in Abuja at a National Stakeholders’ Conference on the Administration and Conduct of Statutory Marriage in Nigeria. According to him, efforts are ongoing to have Federal Marriage Registries in all the State Capitals of the Federation. Nigerian monarchs demand roles in constitutional review
The National Traditional Council of Nigeria has called on the National Assembly Joint Committee on the review of the 1999 constitution to ensure a constitutional provision is made with a view to creating roles for traditional rulers in matters involving religion, culture, security, justice and other ancillary matters. The council also accused the regimes of Gen. Aguiyi Ironsi, Gen. Yakubu Gowon and Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo of relegating the traditional institution to the background with no constitutional role.
