2Pac’s Childhood Poetry Booklet With Haikus and Illustrations Could Fetch up to $300,000 USD at Auction

A booklet filled with haiku poetry and illustrations done by an 11-year-old 2Pac could fetch up to $300,000 USD at auction. The unpublished body of work is part of Sotheby’s latest hip-hop themed auction and is supposedly “the earliest known manuscript by Shakur to come to market.” Signed by Pac, the booklet is addressed to his godfather and Black Panther Jamal Joseph, “Chui,” “Sekou” and “Bilahl” and was sent to them in the Spring of 1983 while they were incarcerated in Kansas’ Leavenworth Penitentiary. “This is dedicated to my family who are imprisoned for trying to build a better nation for me,” a page reads. “I kept it [the haiku booklet] for about a year and then got permission from a prison counselor to send a package home (to my wife Joyce) along with some other letters and legal do...

HipHopWired Featured Video CLOSE Source: Jason Koerner / Getty Tory Lanez remains a thing for all the reasons we’re still trying to figure out despite the allegations that continue to dog him and his flippant attitude toward the whole ordeal. Adding to his list of acts one could deem unsavory, the height-challenged Canadian crooner launched a petition to, quote, “KEEP OUR BLACK MEN ON COACHELLA.” On Monday, Lanez tweeted, “Protect [B]lack men” in vague fashion but it appears he was gearing up for his next big act, which followed on Tuesday afternoon (March 22). “I Just made this …. because someone has to …,” Lanez tweeted, complete with a trio of Black power fist emojis. The tweet was in support of the petition, and the description can be viewed below. From Change.org: We are watching the ...

Damon Dash Calls Out The Grammy’s For Canceling Kanye West Performance

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Courtesy of Damon Dash / Damon Dash With Kanye’s recent antics such as harassing his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian and cyberbullying her new beau, Pete Davidson, it really didn’t surprise many when The Grammy’s banned Yeezy from performing at this year’s awards show. But Damon Dash feels that the Recording Academy have no right to judge Kanye for anything he’s done, doing or will do. According to TMZ, Damon Dash is so upset that Kanye is forbidden from performing at this year’s Grammys event that he basically wants to go out and “make our own Grammys.” Maybe they can get publicity on Kanye’s upcoming social media website (per French Montana) whenever he gets that up and running. Related Stories Keep in mind that though Kanye isn’t allowed to perform onstage at ...

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Christian Petersen / Getty While Ray J’s name stays a topic of discussion for various reasons these days, his older and more famous sibling, Brandy has been keeping a low profile for a while now, but it seems like she’s ready to get back out in the spotlight where she belongs. Coming through with some new visuals to “Who Is She 2 U,” the R&B OG from the golden era goes for an afternoon stroll through the streets of LA where she stalks a dude who’s getting his player on with multiple women. We lowkey thought she was gonna body him at the end of the video or something. Back in Brooklyn (not really), Desiigner throws an elegant dinner where he sits at the head of the table with some attractive young women and gun-toting security in his clip to “Hills Ali...

Britney Spears Is Oblivious to Pete Davidson’s Existence

Britney Spears is still relearning to love life’s simple pleasures after being released from her isolating, 13-year conservatorship last year. That includes the shenanigans of Pete Davidson, who the star hilariously revealed she was unfamiliar with. Davidson used Scott Disick’s Instagram account to post a video of the two hanging out, captioning the clip, “Boyz night was wild” (per Vulture). Spears reposted the clip of the present and past Kardashian family boyfriends, writing, “Sorry had to repost this. no idea who these people in the video are but it made me laugh so hard !!!!” Ouch. It’s hard to imagine someone who hasn’t fallen under the spell of Pete Davidson (besides Kanye, of course), but it looks like Britney may be a fan now. We can hopefully expect to hear all about the star’s re...

Joyner Lucas Wants Off Lollapalooza For Billing Him Below “Goofy Ass” Machine Gun Kelly

Joyner Lucas was announced to play Lollapalooza this July, but he’s not too happy about it. In a lengthy Twitter meltdown, the rapper told the festival to remove him from the bill for disrespecting his name with a mid-level placement on the lineup flier — especially in comparison to “goofy ass” headliner Machine Gun Kelly. Lucas began his rant with concern over being placed in small font in the middle of the festival flier, rather than printed in bold at the top with the headliners, where he clearly thinks he belongs. “I’m the biggest independent artist period with the exception of my n—- tech. And I got the numbers & the fans & the [money] to back that statement up,” Lucas tweeted. The rapper also claimed that he didn’t agree to perform at Lollapalooza, citing an unsatisfactory of...

Drake Donates $1 Million USD in Bitcoin to the LeBron James Family Foundation

Drake recently linked up with Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James in his hometown of Toronto. It comes as no surprise that Drake has been on the roulette kick lately, often seen posting about his losses and wins on his social media. While The Boy appears to be a big spender, he is also generous with his gifts. The multi-platinum award-winning artist commemorated his “biggest ever hit” on Stake.Com with an even greater gesture. In a clip posted to his Instagram, Drake can be seen celebrating a winning bet on black 11. He can be heard saying, “Speaking of memorable nights, I had an incredible night last night playing roulette on Stake.com. It was my biggest hit ever. As you can see, I was clearly excited. Any time I get blessed like that, I always think it’s luck that needs to be trans...
