Robert Pattinson has revealed to GQ that he channeled his inner Brian Eno while on the set of Matt Reeves’ The Batman, making ambient electronic music in the Batsuit in between takes. With the movie primarily shot during the COVID-19 pandemic, Pattinson described the set as a “bubble within a bubble” and “insular.” Stuck in the suit and not allowed outside of the studio, the British actor added he “felt very much alone” while always shooting in the dark of night. “You’re not really allowed out of the studio with the suit on, so I barely knew what was going on at all outside,” he explained. The Batman star was built a tent where he could go to decompress and passed the time as best he could. “I’d be in the tent just making ambient electronic music in the suit, looking over the cow...

RATING: 9/10 How does a band survive for 40 years without ever sounding like anything else? Their earliest records aside, VOIVOD have been ferociously original throughout the last four decades; a unique and unassailable benchmark for progressive heaviness. Perhaps uniquely, they negotiated the tragic loss of talismanic guitarist and creative mastermind Denis “Piggy” D’Amour with grace and intelligence, locating the exact right man to replace him. Since recruiting Daniel “Chewy” Mongrain, VOIVOD have been back to the astonishing levels of creativity and skewed ingenuity that informed cherished classics like “Dimension Hatross” and “Nothingface”. 2018’s “The Wake” was widely and rightly acclaimed as the best thing the Ca...
