Neil Young may have lit the match that sparked an exodus from Spotify, but Joe Rogan poured the gas himself with a now-infamous interview with Dr. Robert Malone. That episode of The Joe Rogan Experience prompted hundreds of scientists and healthcare professionals to chastise Spotify for hosting “mass-misinformation events,” and seemingly served as the immediate inspiration for Young’s decision to leave the platform. Now, the fact-checking podcast Science Vs has interviewed some of the scientists doing research that Malone cited in the interview, going back to the source to demonstrate that he “cherry picked the data” to spread misinformation to millions. Malone has claimed to be an expert on the COVID-19 vaccines, and he did perform some of the foundational experiments ...

Pusha T has released “Diet Coke,” a new song that was teased earlier today. It’s co-produced by Kanye West and 88-Keys, and it prominently features the voice of Fat Joe yelling “yesterday’s price is not today’s price.” Listen to it below In a recent conversation with Complex, Pusha T said, “I’m on some one thousand percent rap superhero shit, man.” He continued: This era of Push is probably the most relaxed and competitive. I take the game so lightly, because now I know I’m so different. I know nobody is touching me on the street rap tip. It’s just not happening. I just want them to understand my foundation, and when it comes to my foundation, ain’t nobody fucking with me on that. So now I just take it all so lightly, and just be great. You ain’t see me do nothing for the last two years ex...
Making his debut on Flux Pavilion and Doctor P’s storied Circus Records imprint, Fluencee resigns himself to raw emotion on “Paralyzed,” a collaboration with Paper Idol. As a breath-like texture and distant melody swell into focus at the outset of the track, Paper Idol contributes to the eerie atmosphere, declaring definitively “I give up on all control now.” More broadly, “Paralyzed” explores the seemingly ever-present urge to indulge in too much of a good thing. Despite the toxic push and pull of the temptation, the overwhelming sensory rollercoaster of it all is enough to render one powerless. As the track reaches its apex, Fluencee augments the haunting effect of the hook by splicing it up and adding transformative glitch and distortion effects...

HitPiece may have endured the shortest lifespan of any NFT platform thus far, but the implications of its brief existence are still unraveling. Co-founded by entrepreneurs Rory Felton and Jeff Burningham, HitPiece leveraged Spotify’s API in order to list thousands of NFTs for sale corresponding to singles from innumerable different artists. The site quickly caused a stir when artists spoke up on social media en masse, claiming no one from HitPiece had consulted them in regards to monetizing their content in NFT format. The swift rebuke caused HitPiece to take down their site as quickly as it popped up, though they suggested the move is merely a temporary measure. Today, all that remains of the marketplace is a note on the site’s homepage: “We started the conversatio...
