Now, they’re set to release a five-song EP, Welcome to the Acoustic Show, featuring unplugged versions of select songs from their debut album, Welcome to the Show. One of those acoustic songs is “This Is for You,” premiering here at Heavy Consequence. Derek Day tells us of the track, “Musically, this song came together rather quickly. We had just finished writing our first single, entitled “Give It to Me” … Feeling the mixture of gratitude and perhaps a bit of stress in order to make an entire career come to life...

BROCKHAMPTON Drop Fiery New Single “Big Pussy”: Stream

BROCKHAMPTON are dropping their purported final album in a few weeks, and today they’ve unleashed the new single “Big Pussy,” which solely features vocals from the group’s leader Kevin Abstract. The beat from bearface and Nick Velez opens with a jazz sample before kicking into gear with a rumbling bassline and hard-hitting drums. Abstract seems to have a lot to get off his chest on the track, going “kamikaze” about topics like owning his masters, being a “faggot n***a out of Houston,” and setting off moshpits at shows. Mostly though, “Big Pussy” is about BROCKHAMPTON as a group: “I don’t roll solo, need the crew to maneuver/ Through the loose and dark and stupid kinda movements.” Watch the Harrison Fisherman-directed music video for “Big Pussy” below. In January, BROCKHAMPTON announced the...

K Trap Enlists Skepta for a Hot Remix of U.K. Drill Heater “Warm”

Hot on the heels of his recently-dropped mixtape, The Last Whip II, Gipsy Hill rapper K Trap is already back with a new five-star-rated remix of his hit single “Warm.” The single was a project highlight from his 2021-released mixtape Trapo, and it went down as arguably, the best U.K. drill record of the year.  Hypebeast sat down with K Trap back in September, and when commenting on “Warm” he said: “The song was trending a month ago and it came out last year — it still feels like a new song now. That song has told me to make whatever I want to make and to go with what I believe is hard.” And with that being said, the track has now been even further revitalized with a fresh verse from U.K. rap and grime star, Skepta.  Skepta — who recently launched his new Big Smoke Corpo...

Afrojack and Nicky Romero Hit Rewind With First-Ever Collab, “Back to Where We Started”

Nicky Romero and Afrojack are resetting the clock with their first original collaborative track.  Last week, the landmark 10th edition of Amsterdam’s AMF Music Festival saw performances from a myriad of dance music icons, including the two progressive house titans, who didn’t hesitate to hit rewind.  Opening up their explosive B2B set, the two evoked immediate feelings of nostalgia and whisked the audience down memory lane with an unreleased record tailor-made for the golden era of big room. The festival-ready smash, “Back To Where We Started,” harkens back to influences shaping some of the artists’ earliest hit records. Kaskade Teams Up With Justus for Herculean Hard Dance Tune, “Dance With Me”

Kaskade is swinging to the dark side, and 22-year-old Justus is pushing the pendulum. They’ve joined forces for a new song called “Dance With Me,” which finds Kaskade entering uncharted waters. Tracks like “I Remember” and “Eyes” will stand the test of time, but this time around, he’s endeavoring into the world of hard dance. “Dance With Me” strays from the melodic and oftentimes ambient approach to his music and instead opts for a more heavy-hitting sound. The track kicks off with thumping, techno-inspired kick drums as reverberating stabs swell and slice through the arrangement. Eventually Kaskade and Justus unleash an ominous drop. At the break, a melancholic pad bleeds into spacey synths, carrying a gritty ...

ATLiens Drop Thrilling 5-Track EP, “Space Cathedral”: Listen

With their new EP, ATLiens have stumbled upon the horrors of an unforgiving space cult. Released today on Insomniac’s Bassrush Records, Space Cathedral is a five-track EP featuring some of the enigmatic duo’s most haunting music to date. The record leans heavily into their thrilling, exploratory concept and introduces a heavy blend of experimental bass. Before the release of Space Cathedral, the masked tandem tweeted out a link to “jointhespacecult.com,” which contained an encrypted message and a warning at the top of the page: “YOU SHOULD NOT BE HERE.” Tasking fans with deciphering the contents of the message and discovering the password needed to proceed, the chilling atmosphere created by the duo served as a not-so-subtle warning about the c...
