Antonio Brown Slammed On Twitter For Exposing Meat & Booty Cheeks At Pool

HipHopWired Featured Video CLOSE Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty Antonio Brown, in some eyes, has fallen far from the heights of his storied football career after a zany exit from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021. Since then, the free agent wide receiver and part-time rapper made news for reasons outside of sports, this time landing in hot water for exposing his junk and booty cheeks in a hotel pool. Antonio Brown, 34, was captured on video back on May 14 at the Armani Hotel Dubai according to a report released Saturday (Oct. 1) by the New York Post. In the censored clip, Brown is seen roughhousing in a pool with a white woman with cornrow braids then slamming her in the water after flashing his buttocks in the woman’s face. There is also an image that didn’t make it to the video of Brown sho...

The CD Turns 40: How the ‘Shiny, Tiny’ Discs Took Over

On Oct. 1, 1982, in Japan, when Billy Joel‘s 52nd Street became the first-ever CD to go on sale, two electronics giants had been pushing for years to switch from the beloved vinyl LP to the shiny new digital-optical disc. Sony in Japan and Philips in Eindhoven, Netherlands, had invented the compact-disc hardware, and they were aggressively lobbying the world’s biggest labels to provide the software – music – to go with it. Up to that point, the labels wouldn’t cooperate – not even CBS Records, Sony’s longtime partner for years before the electronics company bought it outright in 1987. “If there would have been rotten eggs available, they would have thrown them at me,” recalls Jan Timmer, then head of Philips Worldwide, of an Athens, Greece, music-industry conference where he attempted to i...

Tennessee High Court Reverses Naomi Judd Death Investigation Order

Tennessee’s high court on Thursday (Sept. 29) vacated a ruling that required police to publicly release their investigation of country singer Naomi Judd’s death. The state Supreme Court did not rule on whether the records can be released, but sent the case back to the lower court for another hearing. Judd’s family filed a petition in Williamson County Chancery Court in August, saying the police records contain video and audio interviews with relatives in the immediate aftermath of Judd’s death. Explore Explore See latest videos, charts and news See latest videos, charts and news Releasing such details would inflict “significant trauma and irreparable harm” on the family, the petition said. It argued that the police investigative files are covered by an exemption to the state’s public recor...

Lea Michele Talks ‘Funny Girl’ Broadway Revival, Performs ‘People’ on ‘Tonight Show’: Watch

Lea Michele dropped by The Tonight Show to promote the Broadway revival of Funny Girl. The 36-year-old Glee alum sat down with host Jimmy Fallon on Friday (Sept. 30) to discuss her starring role as Fanny Brice in the critically acclaimed theater production, and later delivered a mesmerizing performance of the Funny Girl number “People.” “I’ve been wanting to come back to Broadway for so many years, I was gone for 15 years, Spring Awakening was the last show I did,” Michele said. “To be back and to be in the show that I’ve loved for so many years, but I’m such a fan of this production. Incredible cast. Incredible score.” After months of hype, the curtain went up on Michele’s stint as the Funny Girl lead on Sept. 6. She took over from standby Julie Benko, who had performed the role since ori...

Paul Schrader’s Master Gardener Treads Very Familiar Soil: Review

This review is part of our coverage of the 2022 New York Film Festival. The Pitch: So there’s this stoic-looking man, sitting at a desk in a dark, spartan room, writing in his journal as we hear his thoughts in voiceover. That’s the set-up for Paul Schrader’s Master Gardener, as it was for his previous two films, The Card Counter and First Reformed. This was also the spirit, at least, of many other movies he has written and/or directed over the years, but his most recent unofficial trilogy takes on a ritualistic quality, as if Schrader is performing his version of stations of the cross, on progressively skimpier budgets. The newest iteration stars Joel Edgerton as Narvel Roth, head horticulturist at Gracewood Gardens, and though his routines appear regimented, he also seems closer to peace...

Rammstein Get Restraining Order Blocking Viagogo From Reselling Concert Tickets

Ticket resell websites infamously charge exorbitant rates to concerts and sporting events, and, like the rest of us, Rammstein have grown frustrated with the practice. As such, the German metal band have filed a restraining order against one such website, Viagogo, effectively blocking the platform from selling tickets to their shows. As Louder reports, the restraining order, actioned by the city of Hamburg, prevents Viagogo from reselling tickets to Rammstein’s upcoming 2023 European tour. “Buyers often do not realise that they are not buying their tickets from the organiser but on the secondary ticket market,” attorney Sebastian Ott said. “The legislature has recognised this deficiency and acted. We are pleased that the district court of Hamburg shares our opinion and consistently prohibi...

Courtney Love Joins The Lemonheads to Perform “Into Your Arms” in London: Watch

Courtney Love and Evan Dando go way back, and the two had an emotional reunion in London recently when Love joined The Lemonheads on stage to perform their classic “Into Your Arms.” Love and Dando were friends in the early ’90s, and speaking before the performance, the Hole frontwoman praised Dando for staying by her side during a turbulent time. “He was my one constant,” Love said. “One man who doesn’t have a fucking bad bone in his body.” Speaking about “Into Your Arms” specifically, the artist grew emotional as she recalled covering the song at the end of Hole shows “to make myself sane again” after her band’s intense sets, which she described as “wrath and Medusa, blood, shit, puking on the stage.” “I haven’t played guitar in a long time,” she added, holding back tears. Watch the sweet...

Scott Weiland’s Previously Unreleased Cover of John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s “Happy Xmas (War Is Over)” Unveiled: Stream

Scott Weiland‘s 2011 holiday album The Most Wonderful Time of the Year is receiving a vinyl reissue on October 21st. The original 10-song tracklist is bolstered by four bonus cuts, including a previously unreleased cover of John Lennon and Yoko Ono‘s “Happy Xmas (War Is Over)” that’s available now. It’s a shame the cover wasn’t included on the original release, as it’s a passionate rendition of the 1971 song that still rings poignant given the state of the world. It also marks the first posthumous material from the late Weiland, who passed away in 2015. The Most Wonderful Time of the Year: Deluxe Edition will arrive in two Christmas-themed vinyl variants, red and green, with updated cover artwork. The other three bonus tracks are alternate versions recorded during rehearsals for the album ...
