Nicki Minaj Is a “Super Freaky Girl” on New Single: Stream

Nicki Minaj has never been one to tone down her wild side, but today, she’s literally spelling it out for you. After teasing it on TikTok, the rapper has officially shared the new single “Super Freaky Girl” today, which prominently samples Rick James’ 1981 smash “Super Freak.” By the song’s title and, well, the fact that it’s Nicki Minaj, you can probably guess what “Super Freaky Girl” is about: “I can lick it, I can ride it/ While you slippin’ and sliding/ I can do all them little tricks and keep the dick up inside it,” she raps in the chorus (sorry, Mom and Dad) before giving us a spelling lesson. “He want a F-R-EEEEE-A-K.” There are a few humorous lines throughout the song, like: “Get me Rocky A$AP, word to Rih,” shouting out the new parents. And a personal favorite: “He said,...

Review: Aubrey Plaza Breaks Bad in the Tense Thriller Emily the Criminal

This review was part of our coverage of the 2022 Sundance Film Festival.  The Pitch: Emily (Aubrey Plaza) just can’t catch a break. She’s a college dropout, reeling from a felony aggravated assault conviction that follows her to every job interview, tens of thousands of dollars in student loan debt weighing her down like a ball and chain. It’s calcified her to the world, approaching each new interview just waiting for the next reason she’ll be rejected. All she’s got to her name are her wits and a can of pepper spray. But a rare opportunity appears when a coworker at her degrading catering gig turns her onto a way to make some extra money: show up at a warehouse at the proper hour, perform a small-scale credit card scam with boosted flatscreens, and you earn $200 in an hour. You ...

The Game Begs Eminem to Notice Him on Love Letter/Diss Track “The Black Slim Shady”: Stream

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and The Game is doing everything short of bleaching his hair on the new 10-minute Eminem “diss” track “The Black Slim Shady.” The foremost Pick Me in hip-hop today has finally given up asking 50 Cent to reignite their mid-aughts feud. “Because 50 can’t rap, so I’ve gotta go a level up and challenge the better rapper,” he rationalized in an April interview on Fresh Pair, leaving out the part where 50 Cent was too busy building a TV empire to respond. “Nobody really takes shots at Eminem off this pre-conceived notion that he’s better than everybody. Well I want action, and I want it today.” You’d be forgiven for wondering what kind of “action” he’s looking for, especially after he added, “If you’re a ‘rap god,’ co...

Tegan and Sara Navigate Adolescence in First Teaser Trailer for High School: Watch

Tegan and Sara are just a pair of precocious girls navigating adolescence in the first teaser trailer for High School. Based on their memoir of the same name, the series will premiere October 14th on Amazon Freevee. While many people view the singer-songwriters as an inseparable duo, the new teaser focuses on their glaring disagreements. “What happened to your eye?” a girl asks in the high school bathroom. “My sister punched me in the face,” comes the reply. When questioned if they’re twins, one says, “No,” as one says, “Yeah,” and later we hear the complaint, “We’ve had to share everything.” But just because they squabble, that doesn’t mean they don’t love each other. Mark Ruffalo Says Too Much Marvel Better Than Getting “The Same Version of Star Wars Each Time”

Marvel has released two films and two TV shows this year, with one more of each on the horizon. They also dropped a series of Groot animated shorts, and there are still two Disney+ specials on the way. That’s a slow year for the Marvel Cinematic Universe at this point; there are four films and six shows on the schedule for 2023. But one of the franchise’s stars, Mark Ruffalo, isn’t concerned with Marvel over-saturation — because at least it’s not Star Wars. Speaking with UK’s Metro about his return to playing Hulk in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Ruffalo said too much Marvel content is “not something I worry about.” He noted that big franchises like this always “run their course” and get replaced by something new, but praised Marvel for its variety. “The thing Marvel has done w...
