Megan Thee Stallion made her Coachella debut last night. The Houston rapper performed an unreleased song that samples Jodeci and Wu-Tang’s “Freak’n You Remix.” Meg introduced the track by saying that it is “very motherfucking personal,” and dedicated it “to whom it may the fuck concern.” She also did live renditions of her Good News single “Body,” Suga’s “Savage,” “Eat It” from Something for Thee Hotties, “WAP,” her Dua Lipa collaboration “Sweetest Pie,” and more. “Shoutout to Dua Lipa for doing this with me,” Meg said ahead of “Sweetest Pie.” Meg was joined by a bevy of dancers throughout her Coachella set. Ahead of last night’s Coachella performance, Megan Thee Stallion tweeted, “I got this song that I recorded and every time I play it for a woman they start jumping and clapping 😂 I think I wanna perform it at Coachella for the first time before I actually drop it.”
Megan Thee Stallion’s performance followed her recent appearance at the 2022 Oscars where she performed “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” with Luis Fonsi, Becky G, and the cast of Encanto. It also follows the recent release of “Sweetest Pie,” which she also played at the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
