Netflix has officially unveiled the first look at its highly anticipated live-action adaptation, Scooby-Doo: Origins. Revealing a glimpse into the modern reimagining of the classic Hanna-Barbera characters, the streaming giant is bringing the iconic crime-solving crew to the small screen for a brand-new origin story. The upcoming series promises to take fans back to the very beginning, exploring the terrifying first case that ultimately unites Mystery Inc.
Set during their final summer at camp, the narrative follows old friends Shaggy and Daphne as they become entangled in a supernatural mystery surrounding a lost, lonely Great Dane puppy. The duo is soon joined by the pragmatic, scientific townie Velma and the handsome new kid Freddy, pulling the entire group into a creepy nightmare that threatens to expose their secrets.
The live-action cast features McKenna Grace as Daphne Blake, Tanner Hagen as Shaggy Rogers, Abby Ryder Fortson as Velma Dinkley, and Maxwell Jenkins as Fred Jones, with Paul Walter Hauser also joining the ensemble. Behind the scenes, Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg serve as showrunners and executive producers, while Greg Berlanti also executive produces the project alongside Warner Bros. Television.
Scooby-Doo: Origins is scheduled to premiere on Netflix in 2027.
