The best of both worlds? Selena Gomez dropped the season 4 trailer for Selena + Chef on Wednesday (Aug. 3), and fans think she filmed the new season in a familiar locale: the Hannah Montana house. The former Disney Channel darling heads to Malibu, Calif., for her fourth go-round on the HBO Max cooking series, and her introduction in the teaser looked familiar to eagle-eyed fans. “Hey y’all, join me at the beach for Selena + Chef season 4,” she says, standing in front of a bunch of surfboards leaned up against a white picket fence with the ocean in the background. BMG is growing its share of the world’s fourth largest music market by acquiring German independent powerhouse Telamo, the country’s biggest indie imprint and market leader in Schlager music, a form of easy listening Europop. Berlin-based BMG did not reveal financial terms of the deal, which the Austrian Federal Competition Authority still needs to approve before it can be completed. BMG says it is the company’s largest label investment since it acquired Nashville-based BBR Music Group in 2017. That deal was worth around $100 million, according to sources at the time. In 2021, BMG generated revenues of €40 million ($40.6 million) in Germany across its recorded music and publishing divisions, according to parent company Bertelsmann‘s year-end financial report, with recordings accounting for...

Maybe the only thing more terrifying than staying single forever is winding up in a relationship that’s grown stale. Stella Donnelly navigates the woes of a spark that’s burned out on today’s new single “How Was Your Day?,” another sample of her forthcoming album Flood. Inspired by watching numerous romantic relationships succumb to ennui throughout the pandemic, “How Was Your Day?” is quintessential Donnelly, blithely switching between her perky singing voice and deadpan spoken word. “Level-headedness has made way for a disastrous love,” she rants over an upbeat jangle. “I know it, you know it.” You can almost imagine her pacing around a living room mid-argument to her partner’s chagrin. “This is my attempt at building a song out of a very specific dynamic between two monogamously in...
