It may not be a sequel to Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style, but it’s something: the Wu-Tang Clan is coming to Fortnite with a new clothing collection. There will be two different outfits available, along with some Wu-Tang accessories like reactive backpacks and, naturally, a Wu-Tang hands emote. You can check out the entire offering in the gallery below: Grid View Music has steadily been infiltrating Fortnite’s battle royale in different ways, from a crossover with Coachella to in-game concerts from the likes of Ariana Grande and Travis Scott. Netflix will start highlighting more of your favorite genres and categories

Netflix is giving its TV interface a small refresh, refashioning its old row of categories into a “Category Hub” menu on the left rail that highlights genre recommendations tailored to your viewing habits. Although Netflix’s UI often seems to change every time you load it, the Categories menu generally appeared below the Popular, Trending, and Continue Watching rows. As well as listing basic genres like comedy, action, horror, and so on, it also highlights collections based on the odd holiday (like Earth Day). Now, instead of just listing these categories in the same order for everyone, the top three choices will be customized to individual users. Netflix’s old Category row. Now these sections are a part of the hub menu that you can select from the left rail.Image: Netflix It’s not clear, ...

Spotify opens up video podcasting to everyone in the US and select markets

All creators in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand can now upload video podcasts to Spotify, the streaming service has announced. Video can be uploaded through Anchor, the podcast creation tool Spotify purchased in 2019. Video podcasts are compatible with Spotify’s podcast subscriptions feature and work with embeds. The company is also offering video-specific analytics for creators. Spotify has been gradually rolling out support for video podcasts since mid-2020, around the same time it acquired Joe Rogan’s podcast — which had long been available in video form on YouTube. Since then, Spotify has been slowly expanding the number of podcasters who are able to post their shows as videos to its service. Now, all creators in supported markets have access to the functionality. A vide...

Boring Company raises additional $675 million as investors chuck money into holes in the ground

The Boring Company has raised a new round of funding worth $675 million, with Elon Musk’s grand plan to “solve traffic” with tunnels now valued at $5.675 billion. In a blog post announcing the news, the company reiterated its goals and achievements so far, drawing particular attention to its “next generation” of Prufrock tunnel-boring machines (TBMs). “Unlike traditional TBMs which require upwards of a dozen or more people to operate, Prufrock is designed to be capable of operating completely remotely and autonomously via computerized systems and requires zero people in the tunnel to operate,” said the company. “The current iteration of Prufrock, called Prufrock-2, is designed to mine at up to 1 mile/week, meaning a tunnel the length of the Las Vegas strip (approximately 4 miles) can be co...

Apple’s nudity-blurring Messages feature gets international release

Apple’s “communication safety in Messages” feature, which is designed to automatically blur images containing nudity sent to children using the company’s messaging service, is now rolling out to additional countries. After launching in the US last year, the feature is now coming to the Messages apps on iOS, iPadOS, and macOS for users in the UK, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia. Exact timings are unclear, but The Guardian reports that the feature is coming to the UK “soon.” Scanning happens on-device, and does not impact the end-to-end encryption of messages. Instructions on how to enable the feature, which is integrated with Apple’s existing Family Sharing system, can be found here. The opt-in feature scans incoming and outgoing pictures for “sexually explicit” material to protect child...

Pro-Ject Introduces Its Premium X8 Turntable

Designed for dedicated audiophiles, the new offering is dubbed by the company as a “true high-end solution” that adapts key technical features from both the Xtension 9 and 10. Supported by its MDF chassis is a precision balanced platter machined out of a single piece of aluminum and then damped with a Thermo Plastic Elastomer insert, the component rotating on an inverted bearing with a ceramic ball and PTFE thrust pad. To decrease its load for longevity, there’s also a neodymium magnet down below that repels the platter from the plinth and bearing, keeping things nice and light. Nitecore’s New Sony Camera Battery Comes With Its Own USB-C Charging Port

Nitecore has now designed a camera battery that has its very own USB-C charging port. Created as a replacement for Sony‘s NP-FZ100, Nitecore’s UFZ100 battery is designed for those who are constantly on the move, saving them from having to carry around a proprietary Sony charger thanks to an integrated USB-C port on the battery itself. The innovation allows you to charge it off pretty much any modern power source available. At 2,250mAh, the battery offers about the same amount of power as the official version, which comes in at just a slightly higher 2,280mAh. To make life even more convenient, there’s also an LED indicator positioned next to the charging port that’ll change colors depending on what percentage of charge your battery has, so you know its battery life without having to plug i...

As TechCrunch reported, Google is starting to roll the app out to the public, but it may be a little while before you can actually use it. Google spokesperson Ivy Hunt confirmed to The Verge that the rollout should be complete in a few weeks. What we’re waiting for is an update to Pixel devices that al...
