Coldplay To Perform as 'Saturday Night Live' Musical Guest

Coldplay is slated to perform as the musical guest on the February 4 episode of Saturday Night Live. The band will appear on the late-night show alongside host Pedro Pascal, the actor best known for his roles in NarcosGame of Thrones and The Mandalorian.

Coldplay is no stranger to the Saturday Night Live stage; the band has performed on the show seven times, with their last appearance dating back to November 2019. The Chris Martin-led band first gained notoriety in 2000, with their album Parachutes. Since then, Coldplay has gone on to release eight additional albums, including A Rush of Blood to the HeadViva la Vida or Death and All His FriendsMylo Xyloto and Music of the Spheres.

On February 5, following their SNL performance, Coldplay will appear at the 2023 Grammy Awards, where their most recent album, Music of the Spheres, is nominated for both Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album. Additionally, the group is up for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their BTS collaboration, “My Universe.”

Meanwhile, the forthcoming SNL episode will mark Pascal’s debut on the show. Currently, the actor is starring in HBO’s The Last of Us, a series adaptation of the video game of the same name.

Elsewhere, John Mayer will embark on his first-ever solo tour this March.
