
Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for The Social Reckoning, the follow-up to Aaron Sorkin’s The Social Network, starring Jeremy Strong as Mark Zuckerberg. Watch it below.
In the film, Mikey Madison portrays Frances Haugen, the young whistleblower who teamed up with Wall Street Journal reporter Jeff Horwitz (Jeremy Allen White) to expose Facebook’s behavior.

Written and directed by Sorkin, the script for The Social Reckoning was based on the WSJ investigation series, The Facebook Files, which exposed the company’s awareness of the negative impacts of its platform, including the spread of misinformation and its contribution to real-world harm.

“A companion piece to the hit film The Social Network, Sorkin’s original screenplay is based on the events that gave rise to the Wall Street Journal’s shocking exposé The Facebook Files,” reads the official description. “The film is inspired by the true story of how Frances Haugen (Madison), a young Facebook engineer, enlists the help of Jeff Horwitz (White), a Wall Street Journal reporter, to go on a dangerous journey that ends up blowing the whistle on the social network’s most guarded secrets.”
The Social Reckoning also features Wunmi Mosaku, Betty Gilpin, Billy Magnussen, and Bill Burr. The film arrives in theaters on October 9th.
