ScHoolboy Q Drops New Song “Soccer Dad”: Stream

ScHoolboy Q is back with a new song called “Soccer Dad.” It’s his first solo single since 2019. Take a listen below. Menacing horns fuel “Soccer Dad,” as stop-start percussion punctuates the song’s back-and-forth riff. “Now here we go again, before I had a fan/ Was mapping out everything I wanted/ Earned what I planned,” ScHoolboy Q spits. “Soccer Dad” follows “Blacks n Mexicans,” a collaborative track ScHoolboy Q, Ty Dolla $ign, and B-Real contributed to last year’s Gully soundtrack. Before that, the rapper teamed up with Freddie Gibbs for the song “Gang Signs.” His last album came in 2019 with CrasH Talk. Liberate The Unborn Inhumanity – MORS PRINCIPIUM EST

RATING: 8/10 If you want melodic death metal that will absolutely take your face off every time, MORS PRINCIPIUM EST have been as reliable as anyone over the last 20 years. A collection of re-recorded cuts from the Finnish band’s first three albums and early demos, “Liberate The Unborn Inhumanity” reinforces that point. It’s immediately apparent that these songs are considerably more powerful and dynamic than their earlier incarnations, and that the intrinsic timelessness of MORS PRINCIPIUM EST‘s sound makes this feel much more like a new record than some stopgap indulgence. The opening “Cleansing Rain” says it all. Continuing the unashamedly ripping, sledgehammer melo-death approach that reached a new peak on 2020’s “Seven”, the ...

ANVIL Frontman Doesn’t Believe Band’s Proposed Follow-Up Documentary Will Ever See Light Of Day

Guitarist/vocalist Steve “Lips” Kudlow of Canadian metal legends ANVIL has once again said that he doesn’t expect the proposed follow-up to the band’s first documentary, “Anvil! The Story Of Anvil”, to ever see the light of day. He tells Friday 13th Metal in a new interview (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “I don’t suspect there will be [another movie], because I think it’s a little late on. There’s really no point at this point. To a great degree, the people who knew about the movie knew about it, and today it’s kind of faded back; it’s not as prominent today. That could change. You never know.” As for what he attributed the film’s overwhelming success to, Lips said: “It’s hard to compete ...

PAPA ROACH’s JACOBY SHADDIX Explains ‘Ego Trip’ Album Title

PAPA ROACH vocalist Jacoby Shaddix spoke to U.K.’s Rock Sound about the inspiration for the title of the band’s upcoming album, “Ego Trip”. The effort will be released on April 8 via New Noize Records in partnership with ADA Worldwide (WMG‘s independent label and artist services arm). “This album essentially is a journey through the ego, a wrestling match of the ego of my higher self and my lower self,” Jacoby said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET). “And I’m always challenging myself to try to become a better person — treat myself better, treat other people better, put other people first, but I’ve got this part of me that’s selfish and self-centered and self-seeking. Next week, Johnny Depp’s $50 million defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard goes to trial in Fairfax County, Virginia. With expected witnesses including James Franco and Elon Musk, it will draw plenty of media attention on its own and now, Court TV has announced it will be providing the televised feed. The network will be the official pool feed provider for the lawsuit, promising in a press release to “provide viewers unobstructed and unbiased views of the proceedings.” Of course, Court TV will also air its own analysis of the trial. “Court cases that are as high-profile as this one often create a lot of noise, and it can be difficult for viewers to break through these distractions to have a clear picture of the facts, but that’s where we come in,” said Acting Head of Cour...

Stephen Merchant Explains Why He Wanted to Act in The Outlaws (A Decision He Came to Regret)

The groundbreaking British sitcom The Office and FX’s captivating Sons of Anarchy spinoff Mayans M.C. couldn’t have less in common, except for one thing: Their respective co-creators are now collaborators. Writers Stephen Merchant and Elgin James recently teamed up together for the new original dramedy The Outlaws, which focuses on a group of eclectic strange ers brought together by court-ordered community service in Bristol. The idea for The Outlaws originated with Merchant, whose parents worked as supervisors of offenders doing community service. But to take on the story, as he recently told Collider, he told his agents “Put me in touch with someone who you just think is from the completely other side of the tracks to me.” This led to his first meeting with James, and together the pair c...

Mark Zuckerberg Says Meta Employees “Lovingly” Refer to Him as “The Eye of Sauron”

Mark Zuckerberg hasn’t always had a squeaky-clean reputation, and the Facebook/Meta founder and CEO has accrued a slew of less-than-flattering nicknames throughout his career. But during his recent appearance on The Tim Ferriss Show, he shared a particularly eyebrow-raising label given to him by his own employees: The Eye of Sauron. Zuckerberg brought up the moniker after he and Ferriss began discussing how he manages his energy in the workplace while constantly being barraged with news and information. “Maybe I’m not strong-willed enough or calm enough to do just straight-up meditation,” Zuck said. “I actually need to put myself in a situation where it’s difficult to not focus on that thing.” He continued: “Some of the folks I work with at the company — they say this lovingly — but I thin...

GEOFF TATE Says ‘There’s Not Really A Motivation’ For QUEENSRŸCHE’s Classic Lineup To Reunite

Geoff Tate says that “there’s not really a motivation” for QUEENSRŸCHE‘s classic lineup to ever reunite. In April 2014, Tate and QUEENSRŸCHE announced that a settlement had been reached after a nearly two-year legal battle where the singer sued over the rights to the QUEENSRŸCHE name after being fired in 2012. Fellow original QUEENSRŸCHE members Michael Wilton (guitar), Scott Rockenfield (drums) and Eddie Jackson (bass) responded with a countersuit. The settlement included an agreement that Wilton, Rockenfield and Jackson would continue as QUEENSRŸCHE, while Tate would have the sole right to perform the albums “Operation: Mindcrime” and “Operation: Mindcrime II” in their entirety live. Tate discussed the prospect of a QUEENSRŸCHE reunion duri...
