Mass Shooter Kills 5 at Colorado LGBTQ Nightclub: Report

The gunman suspected of opening fire in a Colorado Springs nightclub over the weekend is being held on homicide and hate crime charges as of Monday, Reuters reports. Over the weekend, 22 year-old Anderson Lee Aldrich fatally shot at least five patrons at Club Q with a long rifle. He is believed to have caused injury to at least 18 more people in the process. According to the Associated Press, Aldrich was ultimately stopped by a 15-year U.S. Army Veteran, Richard Fierro, who was celebrating a birthday among family. Fierro said the gunman came into the nightclub shooting. However, during a brief pause in the firing, Fierro was able to approach Aldrich, grab his firearm off of him and hit him with it before pinning him down until police arrived. An...

Mass Shooting Threat Averted at Excision’s Bass Canyon Music Festival: Report

According to an unsettling report by local authorities, it appears a mass shooting was thwarted on the first night of this year’s Bass Canyon, an electronic music festival in Washington that attracts roughly 25,000 people. Jonathan R. Moody, a 30-year-old man from Ephrata, was reportedly spotted in the parking lot outside the festival grounds at 9pm on Friday night inhaling an “unknown substance” from a balloon before loading and concealing two 9mm pistols around his waist. Later, Moody is said to have approached Bass Canyon attendees to inquire when the festival would end and where people would exit. Lollapalooza Staffer Arrested After Fabricating Mass Shooting Threat to Get Out of Work Early: Report

A Lollapalooza security staffer is currently in jail after allegedly fabricating a mass shooting threat.  The Chicago Tribune reports the staffer sought to get out of work early and intended to use the threat as cover. On the second day of the long-running Chicago music festival, 18-year-old Janya B. Williams reportedly sent a message to a colleague from a phone number which read, “Mass shooting at 4pm location Lollapalooza. We have150 targets.” The number was allegedly created via TextNow, a free, internet-based phone service platform which allows users to register real phone numbers. Janya B.
