Alex G has shared a video for his new song “Cross the Sea,” the latest single from his forthcoming LP God Save the Animals. Check out the video—directed by the artist Elliot Bech—below. Alex G is set to head to Europe for a handful of dates in August before settling in for a U.S. tour in October and November. He’s previously shared the God Save the Animals singles “Runner” and “Blessing.” In April, he shared the soundtrack to the Jane Schoenbrun film We’re All Going to the World’s Fair. The Linda Lindas started out as a cover band, and we’ve played more songs by the Go-Go’s than anyone else. Sadie Dupuis, of both Sad13 and Speedy Ortiz, has a new collection of poetry on the way. It’s titled Cry Perfume and it arrives on October 4 via Black Ocean. Robert Hoobler, the former New Orleans police officer who helped save Lil Wayne’s life in 1994, has died at 65 years old. According to local Fox affiliate WVUE, Hoobler was found dead at his home in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana on Friday, July 22nd. No cause of death was revealed, but his grandson Daniel Nelson told NOLA.com that Hoobler had been dealing with health issues after a car accident and that both of his legs had been amputated due to complications from diabetes.
