AFCONQ: Super Eagles beat Crocodiles to end campaign unbeaten

Nigeria ended the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with a 3-0 victory over Lesotho at Teslim Balogun Stadium. Tyronne Ebuehi helps Twente claim away win at ADO Den Haag

Super Eagles defender Tyronne Ebuehi featured for FC Twente in their 4-2 away win against his former club ADO Den Haag in the Dutch Eredivisie on Saturday. Ebuehi played for 90 minutes in the game which was his eight appearance since joining Twente on loan from Benfica. It is a continuation of his impressive performance from last month which saw him included in the Eredivisie Team of the Month. Queensy Menig opened scoring for Twente on 41 minutes before Danilo doubled their lead on 59 minutes. An own goal by Julio Pleguezuelo in the 76th minute made it 2-1 while Samy Bourard levelled the score on 86 minutes. Tyronne Ebuehi targets Super Eagles return after recovering from injury

Twente right-back Tyronne Ebuehi is eager to return to the Nigeria national team after recovering from a career-threatening injury. The 24-year-old signed for Portuguese giants Benfica following his showings for the Super Eagles at the 2018 World Cup in Russia. The defender was one of the standout performers for Nigeria as they were eliminated in the group stage of the global tournament. Ebuehi, however, ruptured his cruciate knee ligaments in July 2018 and subsequently missed the whole of 2018-19 season. The former ADO Den Haag right-back was also not part of the Super Eagles team that finished third at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
