HAIM Share New Song “Lost Track” With Paul Thomas Anderson-Directed Visual

HAIM has dropped a brand-new song and music video called “Lost Track.” The single arrives as the trio’s first release since their on-screen debut in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Licorice Pizza, which starred Alana Haim.

Written by HAIM and produced by Danielle Haim, John DeBold and Ariel Rechtshaid, the sisters shared on Instagram that they had the line “I’ll never get back what I lost track of” written down for years but never knew what to do with it. They found inspiration while skimming through a copy of the book Appointment in Samarra by John O’Hara, particularly a scene in which a character throws a drink in someone’s face.

“We were inspired by the idea of someone doing something so drastic to get out of a situation they felt uncomfortable in – just to feel something,” HAIM wrote. “We finally remembered that lyric and wrote and recorded the song and shot the whole thing in a few days!”

The accompanying music video, featuring the sisters at a fancy lunch, is the ninth project that Anderson has directed for the band.

Next month, HAIM will embark on the North American leg of their One More HAIM tour in support of their new album Women In Music, Part III. Their first stop will take place on April 24 at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas.
