Los Angeles Has Dedicated a Metro Station to Nipsey Hussle
The Los Angeles region continues to pay tribute to late rapper Nipsey Hussle. The city has dedicated the new Hyde Park metro station in Nispey’s honor. The Los Angeles Times has reported that the metro station is located at the intersections of Crenshaw Boulevard with Slauson and 59th Street. The location was chosen to be near Hussle’s Marathon Clothing Store. Missy Elliott is officially getting a street named after her in her hometown. According to reports, Virginia’s Portsmouth City Council unanimously voted to rename a portion of McLean Street to Missy Elliott Boulevard in honor of the Portsmouth native and to “enhance the City’s recently-rezoned Entertainment District.” The street is home to the likes of the Victory Crossing Shopping Center, Tidewater Community College and the upcoming Portsmouth Rivers Casino. “I am forever GRATEFUL,” the artist shared on Twitter. “P-TOWN VA #757 LOVE.” She also celebrated the news on Instagram Stories, “Thank you @iamerincarter for initiating me having a street in my name in my hometown VA! Drake fans now believe that the Canadian artist is gearing up to release a posthumous collaboration with Sidhu Moose Wala. At his recent OVO Fest 2022 All Canadian North Stars show, Drake paid homage to the late Brampton Punjabi rapper who was gunned down in India last May.
